after less then 30 days... no psn... xbl is bad for MK9.... people are recommending patch ideas based on what? ahhh... their limited knowledge of MK9.

To be fair the majority of the posts in this thread are UI adjustments i.e. button configs, etc. there are a few posts character specific pointing to bugs or glitches and a few posts are character specific like visually this looks low but it hits high it should be changed to low.

For the most part it is UI adjustments that could be improved upon. Nothing wrong with that in a Glitch reporting forum.

don't need to know a lot of the game to know that MK9 has a shitty record mode and obviously bad netcode.

Now in regards to character nerfs/buff than yeah, but point out things that NR might of overlooked than yeah

Have equal damage scaling for all applicable characters with their x-ray attack in combos. Certain characters should not be punished for having more hits in their x-ray attack than some others that are only a couple hits. It seems really silly to me that this occurs.

If your just looking at the damage scaling aspect I suppose that sort of fits in this topic. From what I see though number of hits isn't what determines the damage of the xray at all. I honestly don't know what determines the damage scaling of xrays as its different for different characters and that may have been all they where looking for as a + for that character. Ermacs xray is 2 hits the slam and the elbow drop and it doesnt scale very much like say scorpions xray. I think character x-ray damage scaling is character specific but not based on hits. Sub-Zero's xray scales the least according to tom.

I have been trying to find the reason why certain characters get hit harder with x-ray scaling other than # of hits or just being random, maybe it has to do with how many times a characters gets popped up? I noticed between the 2 characters I have played so far (Jade & Mileena) that Jade's x-ray in combos has much higher damage increase even though it only has a 2% base damage difference.

After testing, I think it comes down to bounding... more bounds, more scaling. That sucks because Mileena relies on a lot of bounding moves and Jade doesn't. Even if this is the case, it stills seems weird to me to penalize characters that rely on that to keep combos going. Though if NRS decided just to have more scaling down for certain characters for balance, I am fine with that...
Anyone know the real reason?

Some I would really like to see would be... simply... a chapter select in story mode.

so i can go back and pick my favorite chapters to play when i need a break from online

Fix Stryker's fake gunshot so that you don't have to sit through a whole dash animation before you can block.

Or

Speed up his gunshot so that it isn't beaten onto the screen by every other projectile in the game (it takes 26 frames to get out.)

Also make it so his supposedly amazing standing :bk anti-air actually hits people jumping in from something other than the exact perfect magical distance. As it stands unless you do it almost predicatively early it loses to everything and kind of ruins his ability to keep spacing.
yea i agree with you.. sindel suffers the same thing with anti air, up+4, upper cut and 44 all can be used as Anti air with sindel but it takes crazy "perfect magical distance"... the only time the scream can be "used" as anti air is if the sindel player guess that her foe is about to jump, not after they jump but a fucking guess......... -_- yet tons of the cast can anti air with ease like all the air throwers and cyrax and his net O_O




here goes my "Tear" rant of the day.. why is cyrax allowed to have both bombs and a net on screen at the same time :confused: it should be limited to just 2 of what ever combination... i might as well just ignore the character i want to use and just go with a high tier.....

cyrax is ok bomds to net is not a problem if they want to change anything about cyrax they should
make his comamd grab blockble so that is not so easy for him to land it but let him keep the comand
grab to bomb trap

This thread isn't supposed to be about character specific changes. It's supposed to be on general fixes such as control configurations in matches and training mode configurations.

Because that's how it's supposed to be and that's how it was in UMK3. It's fine how it is now. You can't just want to nerf things that make a character good, c'mon guys. He can't use bombs while someone is in a net, so it's balanced.

guys it was a joke. that's why I used "tears".

anyway here's how I'd fix sindels issues.

1st - I'd make it so she can't scream after she pops some one into the air

2nd - because of 1st, I'd cut the frames of the scream from 35 to 20 so that it can now be used as an anti air special.

3rd - again because of 1st, make b+1 hit low so that she'd have a low starting pop up.

she won't be able to do high damaging combos now but she'll have more tools to do 20% combos.

How's my volume?
So since Kung Lao is getting a damage nerf, how do you think they'll do it? I'm thinking they'd do one of three things:
1. Lower the damage of the dive kick by 2 or 3% thus lowering the corner damage a lot.
2. Make it so that you can't cancel into the dive kick after a jump kick.
3. Do 1 AND 2.

Damn, a lot of comments... not sure if this has been said but the corner uppercuts are super weird, the way they fly over your head and out of the corner.

Also there's some glitches with Kabals dash and subs ice clone. Sometime they trade and sub zero is left spinning inside of a frozen kabal. And other times (I think with the ex dash) kabal gets frozen and transported across the screen whil sub is untouched. Very weird

My problem with it (aside from how goofy it looks) is it gets them out of the corner when that's the opposite of what I want, haha. The obvious solution is of course, don't uppercut in the corner. I'm just saying, id like to be able to

Make kung laos spin jumpable. its just ridiculous that he can punish any cross over attempts with a +40% combo. and its even more ridiculous how easily you can confirm your oponents jump and still react in time to do the spin. also make it have more negative frames on block.

add more negative frames to ermacs tele grab on block, its way to safe from med distance.
