Well, for a while now, the moderators have been quiet. TOO quiet. This is because of the fear of closing anything or stopping something that shouldn't be happening from going on.

Well, I am hereby setting the moderators free.

A new set of rules is about to be posted, not unreasonable rules, mind you, but make sure you all take the time to read them and familiarize yourselves with them so that you know what they are and that you know to abide by them. Mods: Most of you are veterans and know how to do your job.

New mods or Unsure mods: If you have a question, ask a lead mod, that's why we're here.


To the rest of the members: I am not afraid of being called illuminati. I am not afraid of being called a nazi or an ogre. I am also fair... and I expect the rest of the moderator staff to be as well.

This site and it's threads have devolved enough.

Mods, you are now free to do your jobs as you see fit without fear. I will take the heat for it because I simply don't care.

Keep in mind that TYM and MKU no longer hate each other. This means that if you think I won't go over there and discuss with their moderator staff people who are acting stupid here so that they know what to watch out for, you're dead wrong. You will conduct yourselves accordingly, because we will ALL communicate. Act stupid here and go to MKU and think you got a free pass? Think again... I'll be in direct contact with them over there about you.

Think you're going to get a free pass with Crystal Cage on the job over there? LOL...

Think I'm kidding? LOL...

I'm being serious here. Don't forget the biggest attraction of this site is having fun and making jokes. If you go back to that phase from a couple months ago where you were super nazis dishing out bans and our members started dropping like flies, I don't think TYM will survive. And that's real talk.

A family takes all types.... And a site that is a pure strategy guide has its place, but it will never serve as a kommunity homepage. All I have to say.

Remember guys respect the site rules. If you have a problem about something then come on The On Blast Show stop being a Keyboard Warrior. We have this show for the community and if there are problems thats the best place to air it out!

Like I said, I'm fair and I expect the other mods to be as well. Joking is one thing... trolling is an entirely different thing.

Flaming was never supposed to be tolerated, but most people don't know the difference between joking, trolling and flaming anymore. They will soon learn though.

When were we ever "super nazi's" and why wasn't I informed of this!?

It's simple to follow the rules. It really is. The rules are beyond fair and reasonable. People seem to not realize that a forum isn't like you're out at a tournament or in public. It's more like you're at someone else's house. They have rules too, and if you don't follow them they will probably kick you out and never invite you back. Same thing applies on TYM, but we're more lenient and rarely will perma ban someone.

Yes, but they should first take up direct moderation problems with the staff. If they don't get the answers they want through that direct route, feel free to go on the OBS. Keep in mind though, that the most direct way to handle moderation issues is with the moderators themselves or with another moderator who is not involved with the original problem.

Yes, and most of it is flaming, not trolling. This leads to negativity and discord. This site should be a positive place to be...and not because you're getting laughs at someone else's expense. That doesn't fly with me, nor the staff.


The good news is that we have a warning system and the mods can choose to either warn you with no points or warn you with infraction points. Accumulate enough points and you'll get a ban...simple as that. It allows for some wiggle room so that you don't just get banned for screwing up on something minor one time. It's an effective system and when used well, allows for good moderation, common sense, and a good time for all.

It's not an eye for an eye here. It doesn't work that way. Might not be fair, but if you're only interested in seeing them get flamed because you got flamed, then you have some really screwed up priorities.

Oh, and also keep in mind that the people who WANT to flame, WANT to break the rules, WANT to see negativity... will only expose themselves as such by responding in here in that manner.
