I'm sorry dood. In all honesty, it probably wasn't even female, just some lonely dood looking for attention. I just really wish people would think of others once in a while when they do shit like that. You seem like a nice enough guy and whoever this person was, you deserve to be treated better and not emotionally abused simply because someone with internet access got bored one night :oops:

If you find you're most comfortable starting a relationship over the net, go for it! Just next time request countless pics, phone conversations and most of all, Skype calls.

Once you are out meeting more girls in the fresh, just be confident and decisive, and make them feel good about themselves without being overly complimentary. Just laugh at them and listen. They will have no choice but to gravitate. All of my MK brothers have the potential to clean up serious honeys, or cute boys, if that's what you're into.

I feel for you. I was 15 years old and brand new to the internet when a fraud like that gave me a few dozen sleepless nights.
It feels strange to say that it was 15 years ago: that is how much experience I have now with the 'net as a whole.
Allow me to post my point of view here so that others may read it as well.

STEP1: This is the Internet. It matters not how real it feels, it is not.
- Do not get angry over the internet unless it's real-life related.
- Do not argue over the internet unless it's for a reasonable purpose.
- Do not live on the internet, it's on a monitor.
Those friends are not real.
Those loves are not real.
Those lives are not real.

STEP2: Be careful...
- ... what you share on the internet.
Everything you upload, can and will be exposed.
Phone numbers, home address, private pictures are not for the internet. Nor are information about people you know in real life.
- ... what you believe in the internet.
Which leads to:

STEP3: Check your sources. It is no matter whether it is dating or data, you want to make sure what you found is real.
- Be careful with taking things offline! A score of sexual predators and other criminals (of both gender) find their targets online.
Just to scare people with stuff:
They can learn about your home address and rob your house.
They can abduct people.
- If you do care about that cute person, call them on the phone. Skype exists, you don't need to share phone numbers.
It's very hard to be a fake over voice chat.


Do not be ashamed. People got into deeper crap than this online.

I'm sorry to hear that. We've all done something silly for love. It's just part of the human experience, nothing to be ashamed of.

You're young, you need to date and play. And you're one of the sweetest, funniest people I know, and that will attract lots of women. You just have to be careful because as you've learned, some of them are crazy. Don't worry though, it gets easier to spot the red flags over time :)

had a similar experience when i was a lot younger, 15/16. started talking to a girl on facebook blah blah we're "dating" and she plans to come see me because she had family in GA but every time she was scheduled to come, something would "come up," a family member got sick, she got sick, she'd just disappear completely for a few days, etc etc etc. i was lonely and really into the girl so i tried my best to believe her and this went on for a very long time, talking 2 or 3 years, and i'd have irl girlfriends at the same time because i always knew something was suspect with e-girl but she was so cool that i couldn't do anything but cling on to hoping she would really pull through one day.

i broke it off completely with her after a certain point because i was so sick of the shit... and then one day last year, i found an old random myspace comment from some girl to another girl and she'd posted her phone number in the comment. lo and behold, it was the same phone number as e-girl, but definitely not the same person. i dug a lil deeper and found out that the girl had told me a false last name and had been sending me pictures of her sister the entire time.

the internet is scary, man. don't trust any sort of e-relationship. if you're talking to a girl online and yall think you might have feelings for each other, you need to plan to meet, then and there, to a) knock out any possibility of "fakeness" and b) make sure you're actually compatible. :p
