PWA torny?

I have been hesitent to drive to pelham as its a hike and I work 60 hours a week, if I make that drive on the little down time I have and no one shows id be aggrevated. What about this torny someone said they were having on Aug 6th? is this confirmed. The website for PWA doesnt say anything at all about these nights so its hard to get info except for people talking back and forth in this thread.

It is confirmed, although you're right, it's tough to find information about it. I think there used to be a shoryuken.com thread for the tournament, but I can't find it, and I couldn't find a thread in the tournaments subforum here on TYM either. I did find this flier though, they've also got these posted at PWA:

There's two PWA threads in the regional matchmaking section of SRK. Most of the news has been there, and by one of the people who run the place.

@mcpeanuts Whats the other fightnight? I'll probably be going again next tuesday but I'm just one person. However, there definitely needs to be some offline showdowns before the tournament AUG 6th.

Game Underground in Framingham has a fight night every Tuesday and Friday.

Hey speaking of which, don't forget, tournament at GU this Saturday!

what is the setup going to beat game underground. If they only have MK9 on the PS3, will they have a way to connect controllers via USB. I have the PDP versus controller. That's it. No arcade sticks. Will I have to bring something and if I don't have the PS3 controller I have to beg someone? This would be my first tournament, so I"m a noob regarding these type of events.

If you don't have a PS3 controller you'll have to borrow one from someone. I'll be bringing an extra dualshock controller so you can use that one if you'd like. Maybe show up early and we can get some casuals in so you can get a feel for playing on it.

I am all over this, finally a scene for mk9 in NH didnt think I would see that honestly. I will call PWA and see if you need to register in advance. I would like to go down to get some offline games in as well as 99% of my play is online because thats all I have really for options. This is every tuesday? Im gonna have to go buy a ps3 street fighter 4 pad!

Hey good games to everyone I played today at the GU tournament! :D We got 10 people for MK compared to last month's 6; assuming exponential growth, the next one should have roughly four billion people. Wow! I don't know if the venue is even big enough for that. They'll need to get more chairs.

So there's game nights this Tuesday at both GU and PWA; I will definitely be at one of those places to play Mortal Kombat, but I wanted to see if anyone had any preference which one. Anyone going to one of these?

GU is short for Game Underground, which is a game store in Framingham, MA. Usually, they run SSF4AE, MvC3, and MK9 (with the occasional Tekken 6). They also host fight nights every Tuesday and Friday for people to come by and play casuals.

I'm confirmed for the PWA tourney...I wouldn't miss it. Me and one other will be there from RI :). Everyone should post whether or not they'll be making it.

If you absolutely cannot find a 3rd I can fill in. Full disclosure though I am balls terrible at Marvel. I mean just the worst.

yeah it's about an hour and a half but there's NO local scene here in RI....although Kona says he knows people in RI that he hasn't told me about yet lol. Looking forward to the tourney.

Altho Level up here in Manchester holds Fight Nights on Wednesdays, There is no Mk9 scene really mostly SF and MvC But I've talked to them about Bringing My own MK9 setup, So If people were to show up for Mk9 it would be awesome :)

If you guys are ever willing to come down to CT we hold casuals at Gaming ETC every Sunday and are trying to keep 2 it to tournaments a month. Eventho most casul sessions we have "for fun" tournies. Let me know if you guys are interested and I'll post up more info, I usually post on shoryuken.com but I am trying to make the area MK scene know that we are running MK events
