Is it Just me or does this thing look over priced and overall not worth it?

Positives: (partial list)
The tablet idea is cool
Will feature games for whole family
You're able to play the system on your tablet without having to use your tv allowing you to watch football while still playing the game
Nintendo's first HD system (welcome to 2012 folks)

Negatives (Partial List)
300.00
You have to buy another Ipad looking thing for your 2nd child to play with the other one or in general to be able to play 2 players (how much does another one of those cost?)
Poor list of launch titles
Few Games listed for launch
Half the games it launches with are available on other systems
Other than Rayman overall im just not impressed with the graphics in any way unless i missed something.
The normal controller is god awful (xbox looking)

The Wii U needed a Pokemon MMO at launch for this system to sell.

Nintendo is afraid of being successful and afraid of the internet.

My blades will find your heart
Only thing I use my wii for is netflix and super mario 64.

Definitely not going to buy a whole new nintendo system lol.

I honestly just want a Wii U for the off chance a Pokémon MMO hits it.

About the Pro pad, it looks better than the 360 pad, honestly. The d-pad will for sure be better.

The Wii-U controller won't be sold separately in North America for a while, that's just dumb, only one player will have the controller with the screen, the other ones will be forced to play with the Pro (X-Box looking one), you can always buy another one online, but it's overpriced.

I have no idea if it'll be possible to triple mod your arcade stick, so you can use it on all the consoles for games like Injustice, I don't think the Wii-U will be the console of choice for fighting games.

Never been a fan of the touchscreen and motion sensor features, they are just gimmicks to me, I just want to sit on my couch with a regular controller and chill.

Honestly I was thinking about why the Wii-U controller won't be sold separately in North America.

Nintendo says: None of the launch titles will support (2+) touch-screen controllers, so it doesn't make sense for them to sell it.

I think: Nintendo hasn't done a good enough job with product differentiation (Wii and Wii-U), and there is a fear of people accidentally purchasing them for their Wii's and being angry.

What sucks, is I am a really big fan of Nintendo products and their franchises (Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Pikmin, etc.); But I sometimes seriously think I could run that company better than they currently are.

I know the Wii was oddly enough very successful with their Blue Ocean Marketing strategy, but my gut tells me that the masses are going to either:

a.) Not understand this is a new product.
b.) Be much more skeptical this time around.

I also think Nintendo has created a huge peripheral mess with all of the attachments they have pushed with the Wii, carrying over into this system:

- Wii Controller
- Wii Nunchuk
- Wii Motion+ Attachment
- Classic Controller
- New Touch Screen Wii-U Controller
- GameCube Controllers
- Balance Board

And the list goes on.

I don't think the masses are going to 'Get It' this time around.

They need to start catering to gamers again, not casuals. They have the franchises, they just aren't doing the right things with them.

Who hired this guy, WTF?
i'm buying it because of the following reaons

1. Metroid
2. PC master race - 95% games I play on there
3. Modding the fuck out of it = crazy awesome benefits (if applicable)
4. Nintendo has the single player content that I can enjoy. Not just shooters and 3rd person hack&slashes.
5. I have the money.
6. I 2nd with IKizzLE f-zero needs to come back.

Chime in on this.

I think Wii U is such a bad console.

First off, they are pitching the console by selling current gen games on a NEXT gen console.

Social Gaming sucks, no one likes it, no one has done it right, and people don't want to move around like idiots just to play a game. Motion Control gaming sucks. It just doesn't feel right, and yes, this goes for Kinect and the stupid PS3 thing too. Just give me a regular control.

The tablet doesn't even feel intuitive, I played it, when I went to the Midnight launch for Halo 4, and my friend and I just laughed at how crappy it was, it's more disorienting than engaging. The damn thing doesn't even feel natural in your hands. Especially the joy stick placement.

If you're marketing, the console as a social gaming console/motion control and your big thing is the Tablet, include one tablet, while everyone else plays normally, yeah, sounds about right. Drop $150 for a tablet? No thanks. Lol.

The name is terrible.

And Nintendo, please stop being a pussy, get new IPs. Get something innovative, stop selling Mario and all the other kiddy crap. You can have that alongside new fresh IPs too, like every other console does.

MortySeinfeld

The list of peripherals for the WiiU has lowered so far.
WiiMote(which has plus built in now) + nunchuck
pro troller
Gamepad
balance board

thats honestly it. Maybe the wii wheel if you're a hard core Mario Kart player ;) but thats just a plastic shell.

Karried Fresh Modern IPs = 85% are shooters
