Reptile IS top 10?

i believe reptile is either A+ tier or maybe S. Sure he can't insta air projectile or have a six frame jab, but it doesnt change the fact that he has a ton of tools and numerous amounts of pokes. Reptile is good because he can adapt to almost any matchup.
Absolutely. I'm late to this topic but I've said since the beginning he is a top 10 character. Dash is sooo sooo good. The fear of it alone opens so much. It's funny to read tom Brady's guide, when mentioning if a move is safe on block they always say "only punished by reptile or kung Lao".

I like how you ask a question by using a statement.

Strong grammar skills.
The title actually wasn't supposed to have a question mark there. I wanted it to say, "Reptile IS top 10...My bad." However my phone changed it completely somehow. I know it looks dumb

Kabal
Kung Lao
Kenshi
Sonya
Freddy
Cyrax
Johnny Cage
Smoke
Jax
Kitana
Reptile

I'd say that Smoke, Jax, Kitana, and Reptile are all tied for 8th. Whether or not you think Reptile is better than Kitana really depends on what you're looking for. Reptile has generally better matchups (no 3-7s), but Kitana has a lot more 7-3s and 8-2s than he does. Where I think Kitana is better than Reptile is her performance against tournament viable low tiers like Sub-Zero and Mileena (I'm pretty sure it's safe to say that Kitana beats Mileena at this point).

Honestly I don't know that MU at all but if that's true I'm totally counterpicking any Reptiles with Sonya at MLG
She gives him so many problems. I've played redeyes a lot recently and he has a great Sonya. All her normals out speed his, zoning beats his, punishes his dash hard with huge damage into a reset, she blows up forceballs with dive kick, her d4 beats his...oh and not to mention that absurd ex cartwheels.

Reptile is a very solid character, and should not be downplayed the way he is.

You could win a major with him for sure.

Top 10...Yes.

His bad MU's in theory would be, Kung Lao, Lui Kang, Mileena, Sektor, Jax, Sonya, Freddy.

Reptile is real good.

BOOHOO everyone has to deal with her stupid safe things and you have the option to throw out 9001 projectiles and walk away with your Flash-tier backwalk and go "lol good luck getting in" You have the ability to keep out REAAAALLY well more so than Kitana actually. Reptile can make Kabal second guess his stuff. Let that sink in.
She outzones Reptile, out reaches him, does more chip, does more damage and takes less risk.

Also, I've never met a Reptile player that was a challenge for KL either. It's just that KL effect is too strong for slow ass Reptile.

I'll play any lao with reptile :), and I've been helping reptile's out with that mu so they'll know how to deal with is randomness and jumping around. I learned the Sonya mu well too, you'd be surprised what reptile can do in that mu.

Mostly Sonya. Going to go find your Lao MU now
alright I'll list the things reptile needs to do/avoid:
* When from a distance, use the acid spit because the orbs aren't fast enough to deal with her rings. Sometimes you'll have to duck the rings first, then do the acid spit, but by doing this you'll definitely get sonya to stop staying in one spot and throwing rings all day. This will also make sure you don't have to approach her and deal with dem d4 ms's.
* Don't ever try to AA with a standing normal/ uppercut because of her divekick. Instead walk back and make the dive kick whiff, then punish it for a full combo.
* The dash won't help you alot in this mu, but if she ever whiffs something do the dash/ you can a blocked d1 from her with a dash since d1 on block is -13
*In footsies, be weary of her dive kick as always and use reptile's d4 since it has like the same reach and it'll give you something to use for her d4.
* When she gets in, that's where a real problem suffices. I reccomend looking for their pattern. If you figure out a pattern they do after doing d4 to ms, then go on ahead and make the read and punish. Now if they aren't predictable with it, you might have to take a risk. Jumping back works sometimes, but be aware of her standing 1 to catch that. Sometimes you can poke back, but watch out for that instant dive kick. Sometimes you got to just block a lil and wait for her to make the mistake. One thing that'll help you create space safely for sure is doing d4 to green hand, because when the green hand is blocked it has alot of push back.
* If the sonya like's d1ing after ms, punish the blocked d1 with a dash. If they jump after d4 ms alot, njp them. If they do instant dive kick alot, just block and punish for a full combo. If they try and do alot of d4 to ms, do a d3 after the ms to f+1 bcuz d3 is faster than the d4 by about 6 frames.

I don't have him with that many bad mus, i'd put sonya, kabal, lui, and cyrax as his hard mus only. Everyone got different opinions though, but everyone needs to know he is top 10.

Yeah, those are the only 4 I'd list as his actual disadvantage matchups. Kabal and Liu aren't as bad as the other two, though.

Looks like a very heavy footsie battle with the Reptile player put on reaction mode and looks difficult to mount an offense.
