What's a powerful character to learn that isn't Kabal or Kung Lao

So from the people that play me, i'm pretty well known for repping the mid to low tier characters, but I'm thinking enough is enough.

Who is a good character in the game that isn't Kabal or KL, that's worth investing into? I'm thinking of Freddy or Raiden.

Oh yeah, If Kabal and KL turn you off I don't recommend Kenshi, Sonya or Cyrax for you'll just turn into a hypocrite if you do so.

I'd say Jax. He really only has one terrible mu and that's Cage. So if you can deal with Cage then Jax. Dude is a beast.

yeah you learn d4 ms f1 isnt always the best choice so you lean to do d4 ms tackle too.

She's actually my favourite character and design in this game. I've spent many hours trying to use her but for some reason, I cant gel with her. I know Kano is simplistic, but CSZ requires a bit of technical savvy to use so I dont think its that. It might be that online messes her up...she's one of those characters that's designed for offline only.

Incidently guys, i've been using Freddy in the lab and the guy is ridiculous. His combos are so powerful, his nightmare stance is really good and you create shenanigans with the cancelling, he has pretty good 50/50's and his zoning is so good. I guess my only gripe is, I like characters with a "get off me" move, which he doesnt really have, but EX Sweet dreams isn't too bad I guess.

EDIT: I have considered Jax, as he seems to have a similar playstyle to Kano, who I use a lot.

jax has tons of bad matchups. I think kenshi and freddy beat jax. sonya beats him too. kung lao might beat him. quan chi is bad for him too imo.
