Emergency MLG Dallas situation. Please Respond ASAP if you are going

So funny how everyone wants to blow up NY out of anything. my man, this is no only for the new york guys, this is about everyone who bought their flights for friday and a may need chenge their flight schedule, some people bought their flights before the announcement and others didn't just know the date was on friday since mk has always been on saturday on past MLG events, zoidberg is arriving to dallas on friday also at 5 PM and who knows how many others who doesn't know about this schedule.
Carlos will be told that most people on this site booked for thursday so friday should be ok to start, one way or the other MLG fucked up with late announcement. some people work you know and might no be able to get Thursday off also, so if they arrive late on friday for flights delay or anything, MLG should considerate this people and give them a chance to participate.

To be honest, the first thing I thought is o geez FGC and more traveling drama, but I can understand people wanting to book for Friday since it will save a day of paying for hotels. I am assuming schedules and times are not posted enough in advance?? If that is the case that really needs to change.

Well this is great... the reason I can't go is because I couldnt get thursday, friday, AND monday off of work. I could have gotten friday and monday off, but now it's too fucking late. Not once did i think they would completely change the schedule because other people got their flights on the wrong day. This is great. I'm happy about it.

chaos, tournament starts late on friday, you still have time to go there and play, i bet you tournament wont start until like 6 pm

Hey I just want to make things clear. We are sticking to the start day of Friday for the event. What I am trying to get some info on is the exact start time. I realize that this has become a bit of a pain for people but the event itself was announced for Fri/Sat from the beginning so the arrangements should have been made accordingly. At the same time I do realize people work, and have other responsiblities that keep them from being able to travel freely. I would have to say that in the future we will do our best to confirm dates and times with enough time for people to plan ahead.

I am being told the tournament will begin as usual after Sundance does his intro. Given the fact that he usually goes on to kick things off in the late afternoon. This should give people some kind of a time buffer.

Will it be similar the way Raleigh was where first 2 rounds on day 1 and then rest of the tourney concludes the next day?

Sorry MK community comes off as needy women sometimes but We greatly appreciate everything MLG does, thank you!!!

I'm just trying to help you guys get to super star status. I don't want my friends working normal jobs! I know most people appreciate any events that boost their scene you guys are no different. We appreciate you guys sticking with us through all these hairy situations.

Yo to everyone complaining.. This wasn't a thread for complaints -- just for everyone who *has already bought a ticket* to post the time of their arrival in Dallas, so that MLG can plan what time the tournament should start on Fri.

To avoid cluttering the thread I'd stick to posting that information :)

Also to everyone who is going to go, but hasn't registered -- if I were you I'd register asap, because it's hard to have any negotiating power with hardly anyone registered for the tournament. I know the tradition has been to register late, but if you want the words of the community to carry weight in the days before the tourney, you need to back it up by showing that you're going to be there.

Maxter my friend, I understand 100%, I was all over these forums and MLG forums complaining about the late announcement and how I couldn't properly plan for this trip because they waited until less than 30 days to announce dates. All I'm saying is, the days were posted on the MLG site once they announced all the fighting game info. I'm just saying, if this were me, joe schmoe and some other random, this wouldn't be front paged, emergency and made a big deal, we would just be blown up for not planning correctly. No hard feelings brother, was just kind of joking around.

I think they need to switch it to Saturday morning to be safe, but thats just me...

EDIT: Just noticed they want to do MK at 9pm friday night. Thats extremely late to start a tourney IMO. Im worried I wont be at full potential if my first match is at like 11pm lol
