Yea i've gotta lot of love for the MK community but I'm not too much of an SS4 player lol. I used to play tournament brawl but I gave that up.

or itunes I think at least.. Although it's mainly just a lot of combos. You'll learn more on strategy by watching tournament videos and tutorials. I'd just say pick some characters you like and practice with them til you know them backwards and forwards. BnB combos, wall combos, how to use their meter, etc... Other than that it's just practice, practice, more practice, offline practice, so much practice.

Oh, I'm not really clear in this. I'm asking for videos specifically because I don't have the game. I don't specifically want to LEARN the game (to play), but I seem to get asked to do commentary alot. I'd like to atleast KNOW what strings are happening so I can give some base-level, worthwhile insight beyond "OH SHIT HAT MAN SPUN AGAIN."

I do appreciate the response, though. You're trying to be helpful, I'm just walking around assuming out my ass.

The common ones you'd see in tournament. I kinda know Liu Kang cause I messed with him when I had the game. I kinda know Reptile because I actually found some good, detailed stuff about him on youtube.

Just really, ANY common characters you'd see in tournament. I'd rather be able to talk like, 5 or 6 characters than none.

I know BeeNeeWeeNees uses Kano. I would also look at Nightwolf, Millena, Cyber Sub, Kabal, Kung Lao, Scorpion, and Sub Zero.

Those are either popular characters or characters I know people that will be there on Thursday main. I also main Smoke but since I am not very good there is not a good chance I will make it on stream.

I'm saying for overall tournament characters. I'm not really sure GA wise since I just got into the offline scene here. Although I've been watching every tourny stream I can and there are a fair amount of them.

Like yeah, I am in the camp of "somebody outta handpick every match for the most entertainment", but FunkyP not any TO around here (that I've met) is a diehard follower of that concept. So there's an inherit chance that you might wind up on stream.

The more people you scrape, the more likely it is to happen. ^_^

Well, I just borrowed a borrowed copy of MK9 from Viper, and after I get back from the UFC PPV tonight, I'm gunna try to give myself a 1 night crash course in as many characters as I can. I FUCKING BOUGHT A GAME LAST NIGHT, AND I'M GUNNA PUT IT ON HOLD FOR THIS! Just so I don't feel like a retard if and when I get behind a MK mic again.

haven't heard of it but I'm not too into jrpgs I respect as games them but I usually don't play too many of them.

haha I know what you mean. I'd just pick a character you like and see if you can get into them. I've been all over the character list for mains until I went back to Sub-Zero again. He's always been my favorite, not Scorpion T__T If you want some easy characters to start out with, Easymac er... I mean Ermac, and Smog, I mean Smoke.. are good.
