lmao

There was alot of things i did like about the 3d MK's, it was just they played so badly, it was a huge turnoff.

Anywho, my list of the things I did "like"....

1. Kenshi, Havik & Bo Rai Cho
2. Konquest in MKD was a great idea. wasnt perfect but i'd love to see this idea explored more.
3. Liu Kang was killed in the intro to MKDA. It was shocking the first time you saw it. Too bad they ruined it with Zombie Liu.
4. Arena designs. Somewhere cool. but anytime death traps and stupid weapons were SO lame.
5. The Krypt. it was cool to see some of the stuff they had in there.
6. Test your Might, Test your sight.....just fun like MK1's.

if i think of anymore.........................but i didnt think i'd come up with this many lol

The opening cinematics on all 3 games were very good, especially MKA. Unfortunately it was all downhill from there.

The Konquest mode for MKD seemed like a good concept. But the only one I really played much was MKA's konquest or story mode or whatever the fuck it was called. And I thought that was straight up garbage.

Some of the arena's in the 3D MK games seemed interesting but I felt they lost something that was there in the 2D games. They fell victim to the trend to add more and more tiny details to 3D games. Yeah, it's kind of cool if there are all these tiny details there when the camera zooms in really close, but the net effect of it is to make the surfaces of everything seem muddy, soft, and bland, IMO.

I don't know about that SM's CG, Tim. The in-game graphics in SM were nice but both realtime and CGI cutscenes were oogly. It was nice having Steve Ritchie as the announcer though.

Anyway, the things I liked were:

- MK DA and MKD had pretty good music.
- Background design was pretty imaginative and well done, unlike the character models and their animations. Though that may have been a Renderware limitations since the fatality animations were super smooth.
- The krypt.
- MKD's Konquest mode was tons of fun as was chess kombat.
- MKD's remakes of the old backgrounds.
- MKD's opening cinematic was top notch.

That covers it.

I actually thought that with WB's deep pockets and other great studios (namely Monolith), Boon & co. can afford to write them own graphics engine but they're sticking with UE3. I suppose there isn't enough time to do that, especially that they're working on two versions.

Hmm.

1.) The opening cinematic for Armageddon. I liked the ones for Deadly Alliance and Deception to a degree, but the one for Armageddon was awesome.
2.) Kenshi. He was like, the only new character I could stand. The rest were so meh. Actually, I take that back. I liked Drahmin, until I actually got to play as him in MK:TE for the GBA.
3.) The Krypt. I remember renting Deadly Alliance for the Gamecube right after it came out and spending almost that entire night beating the Arcade mode several times with my cousin just to see what kind of shit we unlocked.
4.) The History of MK video on Deadly Alliance. Even though it wasn't the FULL history, was still cool.
5.) Shaolin Monks. Everything about that game, it's just so much fun. The Reptile boss fight is the only thing about it that I hate playing through. That gigantic snake can eat a dick.
6.) Scorpion's Fatality from Deadly Alliance. I always wanted to see the spear head rip fatality, and then I did. And I was happy.
7.) Chess Kombat. Not sure why, it was just fun. Never lost at it.

MKDA was just a great attempt at a new direction. I had so much hope because it had so much potential.

And I forgot about Liu Kang getting killed right in that opening vid. I thought that was fantastic.

+1. Funny is that I main Liu on MK4 and MKDC lol but loved to see him die in MKDA.

Also I hated EVERYTHING on MKD and MKA except the Courtyard stage on MKD (with bgm remix yay!) and The Deadpool in 3D. LOL I hated even that they reduced the body-buff they gave to Scorp on MKDA to make him more "regular"...
