anyone who has vid cameras and recording abilities should bring it. I used to have a laptop that could do it but my USB 2.0 pcmcia card broke and now we couldn't use Shock's gamebridge even if we wanted to...unless someone has a faster laptop they can bring and can commit to staying the entire time.

Regardless, I'm bringing my laptop anyway, with my digital camera(that takes decent video), and a regular video camera. I also know that kiki aka game said he'd like to bring his sony hd digital video camera to record, so I'll look into connecting it through the camera so we can record.

Konqrr, if you're reading this, what method did you use to record your league matches?

sounds sick! ill also bring my laptop,its perfect! ill film everyone and ill make animated .gifs of everyone (with permission of course) and the matches too. if anyone wants a quick camera to record on, i highly recommend the "flip" video camera,$120, 60 minutes of video,already converted to .avi, and to save space ill film then copy to laptop and delete off camera and so on.

its specifically for posting on the net. the sound quality is awsome and so is the footage quality. ill do what ever i can to get as much of everything on film.

If we play on MAME, the Made in NY guys can use any old 6 button stick to play which might motivate them. I vote for MAME on a laptop or PC with an S-video out, WinXP SP3, minimum 2gHz to ensure speed and framerate for gameplay. Preferably a PC with multiple USB ports so we can wire up as many controllers as possible and not worry about a hub. I have tons of converters and it might take a while to sort everything out. Any 6 button PSX sticks available would be nice if the MiNY guys show up. I'll talk to them asap.

Guys, I'm completely down for MAME. I think it's better that way as well.

Here's a quick list of what we'll need to get this done gathered from Shock's and Summoning's posts:

• MAME on a laptop or PC with an S-video out, WinXP SP3, minimum 2gHz to ensure speed and framerate for gameplay. Preferably a PC with multiple USB ports so we can wire up as many controllers as possible and not worry about a hub.
• Any 6 button PSX sticks(for MiNY Guys)
• vga into any tv that has a vga hd15 or a big mointor for good Resolution
• big monitor or crt tv for better resolution
• controller converters for pad players

I don't think I've missed anything.

What I want to do now is make a checklist of what we have and what we need, as well as a list of who is bringing what.

-Xbox 360 - it'll be there just in case along with pads and my custom ps3/360 stick
-PS2 to PS3/PC adapter - works perfectly on PC, and I may pick up another for this tourney, it's only $20
-Wires and stuff - summoning, call me so we can talk, if you can bring more wires it'll make things easier too.

First thing I have to do is talk to Lance about the projector... if we have the room, he'll let us do it. We'd also need a screen.

we dont need a screen, white wall will do, or a light wall

also recording off the pc is easy

BTW im finally importing my finished version of ps3 vga cable , its not going to be perfect but it will work on most monitors , ps3 has a sync on green issue ... anyways we can use ps3 on a monitor hd or nonhd

Here's the other good thing about sticks for the UMK guys and MiNY guys:

Shock has classic MK sticks, 2 of them that he will bring.

Summoning has a classic MK stick that he can bring(please bring it).
Summoning also has a 360 USA Street Fighter stick(happ comp, convex, 3x3 layout). Please bring this so the MiNY guys have one stick to use minimum.

Joe confirmed last night that he's bringing his MK stick that he won at the CG7 tournament.

I will be receiving my custom ps3/360 stick around next week. It has a custom layout of a classic 3x3 with a dedicated run button...
I use this for my systems b/c it's perfect for SF and MK w/o having to buy 2 sticks... the MiNY guys can use this stick for their set up as well.

after talking to summoning, he recommends we just use regular PC monitors. I know I don't really have one big enough, but I'll still be bringing either 1 or 2 CRT TV's just in case. I know one has s-video, gonna check the other one after work to be sure.

Anyone have a larger PC monitor they can bring? Ideally 19" or bigger.. hopefully something 20+...

Most newer laptops have vga out, and its easier to just carry flat screens than big tvs around like that CRT Crap that i see there

Ill be there as long as im not working when are u guys having this? Were looking to have another tournament of our own as well if guys will show up. Its weird to me that there are so many guys who play and go on this website but when tournament time comes around getting more than 10 guys is a chore. We want to have something big at the house with around 30 or 40 guys, possibly for money

In all honesty, 30 players is possible for this tournament at CG if all the likely players show up but I generally count on about half of expectation. It's going to be November 1st.
