I was thinking of maybe finding a venue so that we can have a small MK tournament on April 23rd, which is the Saturday right after the game comes out. I know people would have only have had about 4 days worth of practice, but it's more about meeting other players and seeing what we can pull off in a tourney with only a few days worth of practice with the game. Hopefully more T.O players start popping up here so that we can get more interest in this.

Well, I wanna start organizing a tournament at some point after MK comes out, but it won't be worth it if there aren't any competitive Toronto MK players around.. that's why I'm hoping that if there are some they can start posting here to make themselves known.

I'm pretty sure w1nter warz lives in Toronto, he's a really good UMK3 player.
Yep Umk3 is the main one I play, I dont play it on xbl though because I don't like the way it plays.

I am in Waterloo Ontario for the next 4 months since i have school, But yea, getting to toronto is not a problem for me, just finding time will be hard. After August though, im down for any local tournies or casuals.

Hey Oof,

Someone told me you made a thread asking about Torontonians that would come out to a local tourney...

Half of the site staff over at www.mortalkombatunited.com is from Toronto lol - Myself, Archmagus, DarkTrax, Meathook and...we also have members like Yayo and Christmas Gift local in Toronto as well - and if you hosted a tourney like this, I can almost guarantee all of us would come out, scheduling conflicts notwithstanding. This is more than enough notice though, so I don't see why it wouldn't happen. Good shit!

Stop by and make a thread about it @ MKU...you'll definitely get more than a few bites!

Cheers!

P.S. Site is looking good Bone and Storms :)

k-frog it's great to know that there are other players around Toronto. I'm going to start looking for a good venue. Probably an internet cafe somewhere. Hopefully we can get a tournament happening soon after the game comes out.

Ok so I talked to the people of A&C Games in Toronto, a vintage video game store, and they said they are into the idea of doing a MK tournament, but at sometime from mid to late May. I'll keep players posted on all the MK sites once the tournament date is confirmed. In the meantime I'll still try to look into the possibility of doing a smaller tournament somewhere at around the end of April or early May.

Ok so I was talking to them and it looks like we might get to use their store as a hub for weekly fighting sessions.

My proposal was that every week on a certain day (example, every Monday could be "Mortal Monday" there) the offline Toronto MK players get together there for some MK gaming sessions. We'd have to pay a venue fee of course, $5 to play MK for a day there, which isn't bad really considering people used to spend more at the arcades. But anyways its good for us to support their store, and having $5 venue fee will be incentive for them to keep us using their gaming room as our hub for weekly for offline MK sessions. Hopefully this all works out for both us and them, I'm still waiting on confirmation on the details. But from what I can tell so far, they like the idea, and actually want to have a different game featured there for each day of the week.

I also made a Facebook page for Toronto MK: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Mortal-Kombat-Toronto/#!/pages/Mortal-Kombat-Toronto/172626429455758

Sounds like a great idea, I was just wondering if you are gonna try to host a tournament/casuals for mk9 in april.I would perfer if it was on a weekend if possible, (saturday would be better then sunday) since it would be easier for me to get there from waterloo.

Depends on the whole community in Toronto what is the best day. Just a consideration I hope you take

Good luck on your quest

From my experience Saturdays are when tournaments are usually happen. But it really depends on the venue. Myself, I usually always aim for Saturdays.

Didn't even touch my ps3 yet. I'm doing finals right now.. it'll be bad for me if I opened it right now lol. As for facebook community page, I never touch my facebook page anymore (I haven't for 4 years).

I'm always up for offline practice and friendlies. I'll let you know when I open up a PSN.
