Finals are up.

Was going to post them on the other forum as well, but apparently I need mod approval and it takes longer than it did here.

I started playing. This game is extremely easy to pick up but I love the fact that its not button mashing because you need visual cues to indicate where to continue the combos. I'm trying out Smoke and loving him. Already getting out meterless 30%+ combos within an hour.

As for the patch, do we have to use the Kombat Pass in order to receive the patch? I don't want to practice and familiarize myself with all these combos to find out it changed in the latest patch. And I don't want to play online yet until the online issue is resolved to something like SSF4 netcode standards.

rikana, I live on the east side of Toronto, just south of Pape and Danforth. I'll be moving up to Yonge and Sheppard in June. I'm usually free for some offline sessions Mondays to Wednesdays and sometimes Thursdays.

I'm looking to get some offline casuals in as well if anyone is interested. I'm off school for the next two weeks, and have a lot of free time on my hands. I'm around Yonge+Finch, so that's only a couple stops away from your new place OOF, pretty nice.

I'm playing Smoke right now, always love the faster characters. Delay->j.HK->Air throw -> Smoke Bomb is fun stuff.

I know there's a lot of hidden MK players waiting to play Offline games.
There will be a few TorontoTopTiers.com events starting in May.

For now, we have to play players in their respective houses.
So all I can say is practice up peeps. I would like to hear the Toronto MK Community soon.

Edit: Also, fix your avatars so that this place doesn't look like the twilight zone where all avatars are the same.

In my opinion, we should probably be doing weekly (or every other week) casuals, and monthly tournaments. That's probably the best way to keep things interesting, and keep the player-base growing.

The only problem would be the where and when. I'm guessing Saturdays or Sundays would be best. The where is a whole other issue altogether. If there's any more than 4-5 people, then one console in an apartment/house usually won't cut it. Although if it's less than that, it can easily be at our own locations.

What do you guys think?

Yes, I would perfer weekly casuals but depends on the majority though. Monthly tournaments do sound nice. I just hope people are willing to commit because based on what I have seen in the online mk community,events do tend to flop alot.

Hopefully we can start the casuals this saturday or sooner.

Russel is a well known tourney host for Tekken. Some of us also come from other competitive fighting games, so I wouldn't worry about flopping. The biggest question is when and where. Most gathering and fighting game scene starts when one person can do regular open house for causal play, then rent a venue for big tourney. Console is no problem either, they are portable enough, (lagless)TV though may be a bit of pain. What we need right now is a accessible place for people to meet and play and get to know each other. Anybody got suggestions?

I'm in Cambridge, but I don't mind driving for a good gaming session You'd be like 20 mins max from me anyways, no biggie.
