People need to realise that the tests they are doing are to the server that is nearest to them which is why in most cases each graphic is saying <50 miles.
This is not realistic or relevant to you unless you happen to live less than 50 miles from game servers or other people you are playing. Gaming is either done on a 3rd party server or peer to peer so to find out a more useful speed indication you need to find out which server is nearest the game server you are playing or the people you are playing.
With MK9, you connect to a central server for the chat etc then I'm not sure if you go peer to peer when you connect to someone but assuming it's p2p then try finding the server on speedtest.net that is nearest the people you play and you'll see a reduced speed and increased ping.
Also none of this takes into account the actual net code and routing code that orchestrates the traffic and NRS netcode is abysmal.
Done.
(Pittsburg is 6-8 hours away, still fast)
to fucking Miami, Florida, which is 1,000 miles away or so...still fast
to ALASKA, factoring 4 time zone differences
Sydney, Australia, nearly 10,000 miles away LOLOLOL
Tokyo, Japan
as far south as I could find in Argentina
People take offense to everything on these forums though. I can say the sky is blue and somebody will get pissed; that's internet anonymity for you. If someone genuinely cannot afford a decent internet connection (it's not that expensive but shit happens) or is in a country that has god awful 'bandwith' then they just shouldn't play online, period.
Right, but the part that doesn't make any sense is why do THEY think they have the right to get mad over it when WE are the people who pay extra for gaming internet and we have to torture ourselves by trying to play THEM? Like "damn, could you BE a little more selfish?" When we switched over from DSL to cable, it was a mere $5 more per month....plus we got like 80 channels and that included phone, internet, etc.
does wifi make a difference in speed? and i didnt expect this to blow up
YES. it cuts it in half, at LEAST.
bro, just because you have an opinion doesnt mean it always needs to be shared. fyi
LOLWHUT?
