I personally think it's a waste. Pointless character, regardless of whether or not he fits in the game/engine. I'm sure they could have made Austin Powers have awesome juggles in MK9, doesn't mean I want him in the game.

It's also not a case of "don't play him if you don't like him." Like Vulcan Hades said on the article, if you want to stay in a tournament scene, you're kind of forced into learning this character one way or another if he's allowed.

I got up early Thursday morning and checked the site and saw the post that said something about the 4th DLC was going to be Freddy. I literally laughed out loud..coulda been cuz i was so tired, or that it was absolutely absurd. Regardless, when I saw him in action I got upset and realized it wasnt a joke. Like Splinter said, Boon wanted to take 9 more seriously (I mean the fatalities and gore is ridiculous but, thats what made MK) so I cant understand why they would do something like this..You guys even think he'll be allowed in tournaments? I mean he's a guest character..aren't most of them banned? I know that Kratos was banned since he's an exclusive. I just think they couldve brought in another character that fans wouldve been thrilled about. It seems to me that casual players are diggin this more than hardcore players are.
On the other hand I saw in an interview with Boon and he said he wanted to bring in the 80s horror characters at one point so I can see if it was like a dream of his for a long time and he finally got the oppertunity to do it. At the same time, i cant help but feel that this was a big sell out move on NRS's part. But its cool, since its not like i have to buy/play him. Thats just my opinion anyways

At first I wasn't too impressed but he's starting to grow on me. He's more of a punish character than rush down. His lighting attack will give you at least 18% damage and a random roundhouse will get you at least 30% his ex moves and xray are top notch IMO and you can't jump on the guy with geyser kicks and squirts. 43 is a good string and you can roundhouse cancel to make the string safe and also add threat to hitting them with a random roundhouse.

Moving back to Tampa this Saturday and couldn't be happier. With that being said, I'll try and be at every gathering/tournament if my job/college schoolwork permits lol.

Oh and fuck netplay man... This game is so ass online. I won't dive into much detail because I know online doesn't mean shit, but MK online is such garbage. Even if you win, you still lose because it's online play lol.
