Citrus County here, whats the scene like in central florida anyway? Been thinking about starting to attend some tournaments.

In Tallahassee we have a nice venue called Gamescape where tournaments are occasionally held for SF4 and Marvel. They threw an MK one last week that I entered but the turnout was fairly small (like 6 people lol, capcom fighters are pretty dominant here.) If you can make it to Tally thats where most tournament events can be found. We have players here but they're scattered. I also occasionally get up with folks for casuals.

They post information about tournaments and also have an FB page as well. You should check these guys out if you're scouting for players in North Florida.

unfortunately people schedules didn't jive so most of the regulars couldn't go. However we have new blood that want to learn the game now!

Also, I'll be putting up a thread soon about Serenity Games every tues and sunday. Thats going to be our meetup place for MK for now

Ok, Sunday August 21st we will have our monthly touraments at Cafe Alma and MK9 will be one of the games if enough people show up. I'm giving everyone a MONTH in advance so no excuses.

I agree. I would move to Tampa too if I could afford it. There are alot of MK players here in town but not very many good ones. Everyone is too far from each other and nobody wants to travel to play casuals. They would rather stay at home and play online.

Rey, to answer your question about TITANS3, the door fee is 10 dollars and I believe that the entry fee for MK9 is $5. I'll double check with Delly tomorrow

I actually bought him and was messing around with him in training. I dont think he's too terrible, but his high/low game isnt all that great. I havent found any good pressure tactics with him yet but I bet it'll have to do with frame traps and that round house kick of his. I feel you wouldnt want to be too far away from him either since his lighting comes out fairly quick, and if it hits it can set up for some nice damage. I'm going to try and play him a lot and see what i can find out, cuz he's pretty fun for me.
On another note I$aac, do you have the info for that serenity games up on this thread? Also, i'll try my best to be at that tourney in August.

When are you moving to Orlando again? I could really use practicing with someone like you.
I've only seen the footage Jose posted a while back, but great stuff man.


Isaac, I'm confident I will attend that tourney a month from now. Your super early announcement really leaves no room for excuses.

Also, will there be any chance of recording any casuals/ tourney matches then? If there's a decent number that can regularly attend, I think most of us might be willing to chip in for such equipment. It's worth its weight in gold for those looking to review, enjoy and improve.

dang your like 2 hours away, i dont want to dissapoint u for driving all that way to find that we are no where near on the same page. your more than welcome to come over though anyways. but during the fall ill be staying in west palm for school so definitly we need to hook up after summer.

Will def. do that. It does not matter if we are not on the same level. As long as I am getting better that is all I care about. When your in wpb hit me up we so can play on weekends or something and maybe start our own little tournament scene.

August 1st I'll be moving back to the Tampa area. Letting you know now Isaac, I'll be at every casual and tournament in Tampa supporting this shit hard. Hopefully you get that stream going too man, would definitely be a good look for Florida and the MK scene.

So what's everyones impression on Freddy? The horror fanboy that grew up in the 80s loves it, the MK competitive players hated it.....till I saw the trailer. I have to admit he looks he fits really well with the engine.

I was dissapointed at first cause I wanted an MK character, but after thinking about it for a while I'd rather have a guest character than to have any of the boring characters that are left.

Honestly, I think it's awesome and the character looks amazing. It may turn off some people, but I mean it's not like it's a cheap addition to me. He fits about as well as a guest character can fit in a game like this. Hell he fits way more than Kratos imho. I'm excited and can't wait to try him out.

Nah but in all honestly I had a good wtf reaction for a couple hours but now it's growing on me. The thing for me is that, Boon specifically said he was trying to create a more serious MK this time around, and then he does this lol? Doesn't really matter to me tho, MK is amazing and to all the people hating...if you don't like him, don't play him.
