i strongly disagree good sir. i think that sub is a terrible character, and is easily blown up by characters with armor
Sub Zeros that do nothing but put clones up and throw Ice balls maybe but answer me this; what can Baraka do against Sub Zero if he doesn't have meter for that EX Blade Charge? Up close Sub Zero wins and he can slide under barakas projectile on reaction so at a distance he wins too.

fortunately i should have plenty of meter, and all i have to do is get the life lead and turtle. i can crouch block ALL day and you cant touch me. your one over head is slow as fuck, and go ahead and try to jump in. spin on reaction and your back full screen

Not if youre blowing it on EX charges all day, especially since Baraka builds meter fairly slowly. And you're just gonna sit there crouch blocking while letting Sub Zero chip you with pressure strings all day? Especially if youre in the corner where Sub Zero is god?

The bottom line is that there are 3 things that mess Sub Zeros day up; Armor, Low Hit Boxes, and Zonning. If you have atleast 2 of those than its an uphill battle for Sub. If you only have one or none its atleast an even matchup (Baraka only has 1).

what im saying is that sub zero struggles getting close enough to me to apply any pressure. blade charge and spin both send you full screen. leaving your only options for getting to be slide, or walk in to apply pressure. you go for a jump in you eat a spin. sub zero pressure strings? baraka has a solid d4, which will do a fine job keeping sub out. not to mention baraka is capable of applying his own pressure as well, with good mix ups.

im not saying that the MU is in barakas favor. i agree its a 5-5. but that means it can go either way. which means when im taking baraka up against sub, the plan is to outplay my opponent.

Yes Sub has pressure strings; those being 2,1 and 22, both are 9 frames (Barakas quickest string is 12 I believe) and have plenty of room for mixups. Subs D4 is also among the best in the game, 8 frame start up and on hit at the right range Sub basically gets a free 2,1.

Yes Baraka can apply pressure too but youre underestimating the tools Sub has; 2,2 and clone mean you cannot jump at Sub either and since Sub beats Baraka at a distance theres no reason for him to approach unless he has a major life disadvantage. Its all on Baraka to make the initial approach, and without meter for EX Blade Charge theres really not much he can do to threaten Sub.

To sum up; Subs normals are better and his keep away game is better. Its 6-4 Sub.

depending on where youre standing in your clone, raka will still hit you. the hurt box on blade charge is extended really far from his hitbox. most subz like to stand in the clone, meaning they will eat a charge. i refuse to admit that sub has an advantage over raka. no way. the entire strategy is to never jump at sub. also im certain rakas d4 reaches further than subs. aditionally i dont think that spark is punishable at full screen by sub either. you can think 6-4, im gonna stand by 5-5. thats all there is to it.
