Too many times I have found myself fucking up strings in combos with things like negative edge. My question is... is it actually helpful to any of us?

in some of mileena juggles where youd do 4~roll you can just input as 4BD, i find that handy,
its annoying with mileena with trying to do dash d3s or dash f3 and getting a telekick at times or trying backdash d4 and getting a roll

with baraka its helpful for d3/d1~slices can just be inputed as D3F1
cant really think off neg edge messing with baraka in a bad way

Kenshi, EX Spirit Charge into D1 Rising Karma. Inputting it by hit down and 1, and then back and 1 for the RK. Always helps. I also use it in the flurry combos in the corner, where I dash forward and hit B3, which just causes a standing 3, and then F3 immediately after to get the flurry.

It never helps me. I hate it. For Cyber Sub Zero you dread the moment you might drop an Ice bomb instead of the 332 / 34 mix-up. This could have been easily avoided ahead of time if you use the 4 for Ice Bomb instead of 3 where Cyber Subs core offense is. I just think NRS owes all the Cyber Sub Zero users an apology 'cause it's just stupid.

Kitana has a couple of combos I use which its helpful in. f41, 2~lift, you can do 2bb and it will work. Similarly in the corner, f41, 2~fan, 2~lift, again 2bb does the 2~lift part. Or is that not considered negative edge? Anyway that last combo, I do hold the 2 to stop negative edge so I can get the fan to come out instead of cutter.

IT NEVER HELPS ME

i really wish it never existed, ive gotten destroyed because my d4 somehow registered into a damn kano ball

There are times when negative edge causes me to perform an accidental input which actually shifts the outcome into my favor. However, when this happens and I win because of it, I feel like I cheated. I do not want to be a skilled player by lucking out due to negative edge.

As I'm a Sonya player, this annoys me to no fucking end since she's so execution-heavy and you can't rush with her inputs for fear of doing an Arc Kick or Kiss.

Let's see how long this lasts...
Sometimes when I play as Kano and do like 212, Upball... I get 21, Choke instead and this really helps since when I play I usually want to do damage with my combos but deep down when I'm playing Kano... I really just wanna choke a bitch and negative edge helps me do that.

But I didn't want to dash
Insanely easy inputs + slow execution + negative edge working together are too much. Why does down then down+forward count as a qcf motion? Ever try to dash forward with smoke and do his b2, 3 string? You'll get smoke teleport unless you perfectly time it which is retarded, they allow motions to be done way too slowly. Don't get me started on down up motions, I don't really play characters with down up moves but when I do it's a mess. I'll try to jump from a crouching position and get blown up.

The easy inputs actually make executing moves harder in a lot of situations. It makes you have to be extremely precise to not get out the wrong shit. For instance, down pokes/uppercuts turn into qcf/qcb moves... Throw in a little input bug too and you have random shit happening all over the place.

I don't like it and I don't like doing any action by accident, I like methodical well timed inputs with as minmal human error as possible. It seems like a serious problem with Jade and Rain to me, though it sometimes irks me with Stryker.

Like Playpal said, it helps to perform kung lao jk dive kick combos

Also, this might be just me, but i feel negative edge helps alot in Skarlet game s. Like strings with blood dash, input forward or back for either uplash or downslash or between combos for example extending combos with 23 input back and forward, and another forward for upslash into reset.

Hate it, never use it. The people who tame it baffle me. Jax's D4 OS is the only time I use it.

Don't mean to sound dumb but wtf is negative edge?
For instance with reptile I can press d+b 4(d4 poke comes out) then quickly press b3 and it will link a forceball since the d+b4 contained one b input I need only press b3 to get the forceball to cone out. Traditionally I'd have to press d4 bb3 to accomplish the same thing, which is really hard to do quickly.

down poke links (especially d1 & d3) become much easier... (as long as the inputs dont overlap with a different special than the one youre trying to link)
