As long as they are wired, then yes.
Where does one get a wired PS3 controller from? There aren't good ones that I know of. SONY doesn't make them. Most players use PS2 controllers with a converter. We have got to get over that "no wireless controllers" rule. It's doing much more harm than good. You are basically forcing everyone to get a converter (unless they play on a stick) just because the possibility exists that somebody might forget to un-synch their controller and interrupt a match.

And in the spirit of constructive criticism, as opposed to just criticism, here is an idea. Have dedicated controllers for each station, those are the only controllers that can be used and you therefore eliminate the de-synch issue. How many stations are there going to be at the MK tourney? My guess is no more than 2. Then we need 4 controllers and they will be the only ones used so no one has to synch and de-synch. Thoughts?

No disrespect to anybody, but I agree with Raidenwins here.

I understand the reasoning behind the rule that bans wireless controllers, but at the same time it has its unfair side. This means we are allowing the mistakes of a few idiots to affect every genuine player involved in the tournament. It's not like nobody remembers to desync their controllers when they are done with a match, especially in a public location. This rule just creates more hassle and might even prevent some players from competing at all because they don't have access to a convertor. I know of no location here in Oklahoma who sells them.

In addition to my friend's suggestion, I have one myself: if wireless controllers are allowed and you encounter anybody who tries to infringe the rules with them (such as interrupting a match, "saving" a friend from losing, etc.), just disqualify the offender.

Lastly, there are some wired PS3 controllers, but these are plastic and have horrible shoulder buttons. The last time I bought one, the block button kept sticking and part of its right handle broke off. I never bought such a controller again. If anybody knows of a wired PS3 controller that works well, by all means, astonish me.

This is so true. I do own a wired PS3 controller made by Pelican and that thing is horrific, almost as bad as an XBox 360 controller.

I don't understand why they can't just let use our wireless PS3 controllers. This is not EVO, it's not that critical if someone accidentally forgets to de-synch and interrupts a match, which is highly unlikely to happen anyway.

Holy shit, some serious competition at this one. I wanna gooooooo. Dammit
You should still come out bro, we will most likely get a good amount of casuals in, im also down for money matches if I dont go broke beforehand.

Its a UCC sanctioned tournament so maybe they are enforcing the rules that will be in effect at the major...

It is still being played for money, so it is pretty important that matches are not interfered with.

Like I said, post on the tourney page.

Believe me if i could, I'd be all over it..but real life is interfering. :( Gotta pay those pesky bills. If I went to this, I would not be able to make Texas Showdown. I haven't accrued enough personal time this year yet. Rock and a hard place bro, rock and a hard place

Ps2 controllers ..... oh gawd, sharing a convertor between 3 people it looks like and my Ps2 controller dates back to last year at EVO.

Shit

EDIT: I'd be fine using ps2 controller actually, my convertor is lagless, but we are bringing wireless controllers for sure just incase....

Have any of you posted on the page I linked? They might allow wireless, but you have to ask them.

Dont get pissed at me if people there are using wireless, I just know it is common in tourney's to use wired. I would bring a wireless controller with you just in case(you can definitely use them in casuals as well).

If you guys get in on Friday, we have weekly casuals at HOG. Hit me up if you want to know where.

Looks like I'm gonna have to buy a 3rd party controller. (There's no way the d-pad can be worse than the 360's, right?) Plus I've been playing SCV all week so I might get mindfucked playing a 2D fighter again.

Kill me now. :(

There is a way, haha. I have a Pelican one and it's really bad.

The Dpad looks pretty terrible on the Pelican. But the control sticks look fine :p

P.S. Armageddon the hardest thing is not trying to block with A in MK XD

We appreciate you guys coming down and supporting our scene. I may have gone 0-4 in all my tourney matches, but at the end of the day I am still really happy with how the tournament turned out, especially the MK side.(Except they had to stream Marvel, again xP).

Your win was well deserved, congratulations.
