any wiffed upknee from a little past midscreen can be punish with roll.

D4 stops noob. His only answer is block and jump back.

this is a match of patience but if u know how to exploit noob then he just dies

Dude, amazing Kabal, definitely the best out there after REO, but let's face it, REO is a machine that performs at a level that does not appear human at times. I'd love to get more casuals against you next time as well.

Congrats on cracking the top 16.

It was awesome meeting everyone; this was my first tournament after deciding to really pick up MK. My goal was not to go 2-and-out, and I went 2-2, so I'm happy with that.

See you all at the next one! When does the shout-outs thread start?

Hey all, I'm kind of new to serious MK tournaments, I just wanted to post and let everyone involved know how great the stream was and how good of a job the MK community did putting this together. I definitely have some shoutouts.

1) Chris G. I'm a HUGE Noob fan and it didn't really feel like there was much love for Noob whenever I got to see any MK. There never felt like there was a definitive Noob player but Chris really stepped it up here (was told he did well at apex too) it's nice to see an underused character really get a player who gets people talking about them. It feels like Chris G really is the face of Noob Saibot right now and put this character back on the map. Mad props to Chris G for not just picking the godlike characters my friends told me about getting mad far in a tournament with this character.

2) Saw a guy play Stryker and it was heavenly. I don't know much about this game in the big picture but I always felt he maybe wasn't that great. Mad props for someone reppin' the law.

3) Shoutouts to all the guys who used Disney princess names. You were missing a few of the best ones though.

My only little complaint is the commentary at times. I watch some other fighters a lot and it felt like in comparison some of the commentary was kind of lacking. I heard a few matches where two guys just yelled "damn" the whole time and didn't even say anything. Its okay to be hype but the guys I'm talking about both of them said like nothing but "damn" for the entire matches.

Overall good stuff though its cool to see MK still doing so well! Grats to the winners the final matches were all mad hype.

Damn what about HITO???

Also Maxter was using Stryker and he's a damn genius.

And I was using Snow White. Trolling is fun.

If it was Maxter then mad props to that guy because he's the only Stryker I saw and he seems like another unpopular character. I saw some people using some pretty cool characters that I didn't expect to see people use like Sektor and Stryker and even Sindel.

Nice job with the Snow white. I saw Mulan and Belle too. Super funny.

Why would he let everyone else have Disney princesses yet deny you such an illustrious title?

Yeah, Phil was like, "Goddamn WNBA and their princess names!!!" I was dying. Some people got theirs changed some didn't. I wasn't WNBA then so I didn't get a pretty girl moniker :( :( :(. Next time.... Next time....

I assume it's just cause he knew who I was and put up the name that I normally use in tournaments when I'm not trolling.

It was a great tourney and man, Rapzilla with that Reptile... I don't know what it is about that character, gets me every time. Oh well, at least he gave me cookies that were delicious.

Wow, what a stream. I spent a good few hours trolling it up so I had the opportunity to reacquaint myself with the Mortal Kombat community.

I ended up leaving at the end of Saturday to see Ghost Rider, but after checking the hype stream archive, I'm not sure I made the right decision. Never again, Nicholas Cage. Never again.

It's good to see Mortal Kombat continuing to pull in viewers and entrants; I'll try my best to make a reappearance in the community now that I've finally gotten my Marvel game to a point that's acceptable for me. Although, being a founding member of the WNBA, I'm sorely in need of a princess name...

It's also quite humorous to find that, in my absence, the WNBA has developed a reputation not dissimilar to Futurama's Robot House.

"Goddamn WNBA!" just sounds like "Robot Hooooouse!" to me.

Seems like they're doing their job. Good shit, WNBA. Gotta show the community what good fundamentals are all about. Overall, I was genuinely impressed by the caliber of players that showed up; particularly the guys who juggle and succeed in multiple games (Chris G, Classy Sasquatch, CDJr, Arturo, SawnikFawx etc). I had to drop MK almost entirely to focus on Marvel, so if these guys can get results in multiple games I don't really have an excuse. Especially Chris G who placed top 8 in AE, MK, and Marvel. Having played his Noob first hand at Apex, I must say he makes me look at the character a different way. I hope to never play him first round ever again in any competition whatsoever.
