why not watch this video that took me a million hours to make and find out!!!!!!!!

Omg, this is you?!? I saw this yesterday. Its by far the best video like this I've seen so far! Great work!!

During pre release I was expectibg to main JP or Dhalsim. After playing for a day it seems like it might be Juri and Cammy.

OK I just got it... I feel dirty, but I think Ken!!! Exactly my style.

Like JP and DeeJay (ugh!) too

I might play around with Kimberly a little - she is not the usual way I like to play, but she was fun to mess around with.

The thing with this is that we can say one thing and then actually main someone else. I remember saying I'd main Liu Kang and Sub before MK11 came out and yeah, I did main them for a month and then switched to Johnny, a character I never gave a shit about. Tier list has nothing to do with it since Liu's been top 3 throughout the whole lifespan of MK11 but damn is he fucking boring in the game. Johnny on the other hand was very dynamic and played exactly how MK11 was intended to be played. I hope Liu throws away those shitty nunchaku heavy moves and uses more strings instead of the fucking f4.

Playing Jamie may be a mistake for someone like me who struggles understanding how SF works and can't get any muscle memory going for the basics. There's NO crutches to lean on in his kit. All just strong fundamentals, neutral, footsies, and hit confirms. Tearing my hair out over here cause I absolutely do want to play him but hot damn am I absolute ass at getting down the basics. I can easily get good combos going consistently; yet the basic idea of mashing 2LP, 2LK, 2LP in close range for pressure / "easy" hit confirms, jump normals being hella plus, and dashes being a full committal action you can't cancel just do not make sense to me yet. Doesn't help ranked tossed me into Platinum at 1800 LP after placements and I've just been careening down the LP ladder since. Almost down to 1600 at this point.

PS: Dee Jay players can kindly fuck off with the double projectile and the giga active frame short hop knee.

We all die alone. So love yourself before you go.
Currently I’m gonna main Kimberly and JP. However I really hope they’re gonna bring Karin, Poison, Menat, Sakura, Kolin, Vega, M.Bison and Akuma back.
I know DLC is coming but this base roster seems a bit flawed.

I've been playing "Little Hawk" (Lily)... which is odd as I was never really a T-Hawk player. Still I think she is a lot of fun. It can be annoying to keep her "wind" up.. but I am working out some consistent setups so I never really need to do the powerup move alone... that being said, having a simple ex that can bust through projectiles makes that a lot safer.

here I am playing Manon and absolutely loving it
You and that command grabbing ho can go straight to hell
yeah... go sit in the corner and think about your life choices, Zv!!

I'm back to my SF2 main, Honda. He seems solid, s.MP, cr.HP are really good, damage is good, accessible plus frames that set up command throw mix, safe specials everywhere, and he's thicccc

I'm using Luke atm, mostly just to learn the game as it's my first time playing Street Fighter but he's fun so see if I stick it out long term. I like the look of Dhalsims zoning and range though so he appeals

I have a stupid question... but I have not seriously played SF in about 20 years.

I originally wanted to main Ryu, but I cannot understand why I would main him over Ken apart from liking him more. They are still similar, but the trajectory/properties of Ken's specials seem so much better and he has great normals.

What is the difference in the playstyle which gives Ryu an advantage over him?

As it stands, I am liking Ken's playstyle the best, but I am not a fan of the character, so I won't stick with him for long or I will get bored of the game (yes... I am one of those annoying people where characters directly influence the enjoyment of a game!).

Wow, Dhalsim looks terrifyingly difficult to play... I admire you!

It basically boils down to high level play. They are both similar, but have very different game plans for the competitive. What I mean is that when learning or as a low level player, they are in fact kinda interchangeable, though I would say Ryu is probably a better choise for a beginner.

The main difference is that Ryu is an actual Zoner and Ken is a mid-range pressure character. So while Ryu's moves create distance, Kens moves close distance. That, there, is the difference in a nutshell. You can see this in Ryu's pushbacks and Ken not having as many knockdowns (so he can continue mix-ups and pressure, while Ryu can move backwards after knock down or he / opponent is pushed back on block or hit.

People like to talk about "fundamentals". Ryu is all about that. He has great footsies and space control. Long reaching normal and all that. As a beginner, he is easily one of the best characters to learn "how to street fighter".
