oh man.... I can't believe this. Arturo is a legend, but for a second there I thought you meant Spooky himself. That would be unthinkable!

man... this makes much more sense to me.. I honestly just couldn't believe it. I hope this tweet is true and it all shakes out. I mean if there was embezzlement fuck this guy.. but the entire situation seemed so unreal. I really hope this is legit (besides the sick dad of course)

Yeah, anytime “breaking news” happens, whatever that news is, I try to wait for a bit before I “pick a side”. This goes for everything. So often you’ll see some breaking news where you don’t have all the facts, don’t have the full context, and people will be making huge judgement calls when the actual story could be a lot different than what is originally being told. It also could be the case that the original story being told is 100% what the truth is. But there’s no reason not to just wait a bit to be sure.

I’ve known Art for over a decade now, so I really hope his side of the story is what’s true. But, won’t know until we get more facts and context. ¯\(ツ)/¯

The facts and context were already given in the post by StormGoddess' above. If you read the timestamps, Art's statement was well before that post. You're seeing it because it was stickied, but Dee's Twitter Space about the situation was held after that.

I'm not going to weigh in, but they definitely presented their share of facts, and the iPhone notes statement doesn't really cover it. So the onus is on Art right now to better explain.

Actually, Art’s post was after all of that. All of those tweets and everything were prior to 8pm, that tweet of Art’s was done after 8pm.

That’s besides my point anyway. It’s far better to err on the side of caution before you make definitive judgments or statements. Best thing you can do is wait a bit to make sure you’ve heard all the facts, have all the evidence, have heard out all sides, etc. Way too often do people jump the gun without knowing the full picture. But as I said, we absolutely COULD already have all the facts and evidence and the original claim COULD be 100% accurate. All I’m saying is that for me personally, I’ve learned there’s absolutely nothing wrong with taking a step back for a bit, wait for more or all of the evidence to be on the table, and then go from there. If the original story ends up being the case and you were gonna rip into him to begin with, nothing changes by waiting except now you’re far more certain.

I'm into giving him the benefit of the doubt until all the fact come out. Macharino is a service that relies on trust so they needed to act fast, but I still hold out hope that this is all some kind of miss understanding. It is just so unreal that Art would do this, I simply find it nearly impossible to believe. I'm sure the full truth will come out soon during the investigation, so l'm going to take a beet and see how it all goes, before condemning one of the most legit, influential and nicest guys I have ever known in the entire FGC. I think he has earned at the very least a "wait and see".

My question is, has everyone that was owed money been paid? Did any of that get cleared up?

In the twitch stream from BUM (post above), he brings up players that are still owed money, and that Matcherino is still "making" good on some of Art's oversights.
NYMagicMike, IDOM, Hotashi etc are all players that got screwed in one way or another. Apparently, behind the scenes, some players and TOs were aware of some of this Art stuff and waited until Matcherino made a statement before they publicly talked about this.

When asked about it on his stream, he ended the stream, and then deleted the archive.

Well, regardless, optically it doesn’t look good, but we still don’t have all the information and/or evidence. Time will tell
