Kombat Pack 2 Has Kome!

I think they might have meant "validate" more than "justify" but it makes perfect sense.

If you had a toddler, and they wanted something they couldn't have or didn't need, would you give in to them after they threw a tantrum? No, you wouldn't because you'd be setting a precedent. You'd be telling them that you'd always give in as long as they threw big enough of a fit.

NRS shouldn't give into the tantrum-throwing toddlers we call the internet. If they did give them Mileena, they'd just be harassing NRS for the next character. Then the next, and so on.
Except we are not talking about toddlers, it's a small and vocal part of the Mileena fanbase that is not representative of its entirety. If Scorpion was left out, people would harass them, and that would apply to any popular character because we're talking about some uneducated people that are gonna be uneducated no matter what. I don't think the correct reasoning would be to leave Scorpion out because "the fans don't behave".

I'm all for giving NRS creative space, it's clear they didn't intend to include Mileena, and that's probably as it should be. But excluding characters because of the behavior of some fans doesn't make sense to me. I like Mileena and I'd like to see her in a future game, and I don't want to be represented by people that harass developers.

Right, I'm with you. All I'm saying is that they should stick to it. Mileena was not planned/meant to be in this game. I'm not suggesting they should exclude her from upcoming releases because of the clamor for her to be added to this installment. I'm just saying they should stick to their plan, and not shoehorn her into THIS game because of a few of her rabid fans.

It would just send the wrong message. This is all moot anyways. I remember the uproar from Rain fans in MKX. "BUT HE WAS IN THE TRAILER, FUCK YOU NRS, NEVER BUYING ANOTHER ONE OF YOUR GAMES!" Same with Kabal and Nightwolf, Baraka. "You took the time to update their models from MK9, even gave them their own movelists, but we can't use them?!"

They didn't cave then. they won't cave now. Ed will just troll those people as he always has.

They're just saving her for the next game for the "fan favorite return". Noob Saibot was easily one of the most requested characters for MKX, but they held him off until this game and his reveal trailer is sitting at almost 7 million views. I'm pretty sure thats more than any other character.

Its gonna be the same story for when Mileena, Reptile & Smoke come back for the next game.

This is pretty much what I've been saying.

A lot of people also want Reptile back so much, yet he was one of the least used characters in MKX because he was low tier. This doesn't apply to those that actually played and stuck with Reptile despite him being low tier. My issue is those that had the chance to play him in MKX, but didn't because he was low tier and now want him back. Why? So you can play him for about a week or two, realize he's low tier again, then ignore him and go back to your main all over again?

There's probably triple the amount of people asking for Reptile now than the number of people that played him in MKX. This makes it seem like these people care more about winning than wanting a character.

I mean its really just about design/playstyle. Reptile is a good example because he's a fan favorite, but has wildly different designs between the games. People who loved Reptile in MK9 might've hated him in MKX. I was one of the ones asking for Spawn to be in this game, but I don't play him because his playstyle is nothing like what I wanted it to be.

My issue with missing Reptile is that out of the dozens of fighting games I've played, I've never found a glove that fit me like Reptile. And that's been true since UMK3.

It's the acid ball pressure that I'd love to find a parallel to but even then I just love the way they animate him and his personality.

Now if for once they wouldn't cheat this poor man after 20 years as a jobber. That'd be the ultimate feels good man.

Take solace in the fact that Reptile wouldn't have played like Reptile in MK11. All that fun stuff he had in MK9 and MKX? Forget it.

This is why I'm ok with Ermac not being in MK11.

I'm a big Reptile fan, but he was straight up garbage in X. One of the staple characters for why the variations system does not work. Not that it does, but if you are going to make an argument, you could use Reptile in X. His potential is still untapped and NRS seems to lack creativity when it comes to Reptile in terms of design and moves. I don't get it.

I can at least appreciate a fake leak that is creative.

We find out Havik is the Descendant of Apep at one point during the Krypt expansion. He appears before Shang Tsung after you complete all of Smoke's sidequests, and reveals his identity to him by taking off his mask. Shang Tsung deems him worthy to be his aide/acquaintance and spares his life, despite Havik's "deception".

Havik's skins are basically the Descendant of Apep, Ermac's Krypt design but with normal skin and glowing blue eyes, his Deception design, and a brand new design. The new design is a revenant re-imagining. It puts a large hole in his lower torso that exposes his spine, removes chunks of skin and muscle from his forearms, and gives him eagle legs from the knee-down. It's wild. His armor is almost medieval looking with sharp, angular edges the visible dig into his skin.

His gear pieces are headwear, morning stars, and medallions. The headwear is tight to his head in order to fit into the hood of his second skin.

Lastly, here are 2 of Havik's intros. One of them shows him sliding himself off of the spikes between the Shaolin Trap Dungeon and Wu Shi Dragon Grotto. Once it cuts to the stage you're fighting on, he arches his back until his head reaches his heels, cracking his back a bunch in the process. His second intro is him leaping out of an airborne portal morning star-first, slamming it in the ground as he makes impact. Havik's animations are amazing and his hair flows like it's in water.

At least he doesn't hide his Havik fandom. At this point imagine if he's actually not part of the last 8...people are going to be pissed.

I disagree. I've mained Reptile in X for almost the game's entire life. I'd argue he's one of the best examples of the variations system. On his own he's a fully realized character, and the variations only enhance him (except maybe noxious lol). Which hardly any character at all can say. Not only that they even made sense for his character. He's poisonous, fast as fuck and can turn invisible. Hit all his key points.

You can play any variation of Reptile, even no variation, and still feel like you're playing Reptile. He doesn't feel like his move pool was dissected like some of the other characters.

I can see where you're coming from. However, when other variations are taking a character from terrible to broken, it feels pretty awful to just barely change a base moveset. IF everyone was balanced around variations like Reptile? Ok. But the way they truly work made reptile awful to play as in MKX. I played him alot. He's my favorite MK character bar none, but even I ended up having him as a side character because he was so wack in MKX. They literally did the most bare minimum stuff for him to even be in the game. I really wanted him in MK11, but as others have stated the fun stuff for MK9/X probably wouldn't have been in MK11 anyways.

Variation system was a mistake
Welcome to my argument since launch, Pizza Amigo. Should have never been a thing, and now it's been a hindrance for so long that it won't make an iota of difference if it's done away with now. But WB and NRS have made their casual money, so our opinions might as well be Groot.

Nimble Reptile is one of the coolest characters in that entire game. I loved watching a good Nimble player. Fucking combos were insane.

Yup. I played many sets against Ilgenowski's nimble. No matter how many times we played, he'd always have a new combo/setup/wrinkle that I hadn't seen before. It was crazy.
