Fighting a Kung Lao and that question : why did NRS decided Kung Lao could be able to use two tornados in the same combo, and not Kitana ?

He can use 3 :(

Kitana used to be able to use multiple fans and still combo into lift. That’s been her trademark: ground fan + air fan + lift.

I know they tried to make this game less combo heavy but Kitana has ALWAYS been combo heavy. Plus it doesn’t make sense Lao got to keep his combo heavy ways.

That's what is frustating. Some characters clearly did'nt get the same treatment as others.

The variation system of MK 11 is clearly the cause, for me. It is not well executed, and many characters feel incomplete without some move of different variations. That was not the case in MKX, in my opinion. Their base kit was strong enough, not the case in MK 11 : /

Over the last bit, I've actually been going back to Mortal Kombat XL, and I'm finding I'm having more fun. I find I enjoy the faster pace and combo potential of that game. Mortal Kombat 11 is an excellent game, but I'm finding it's neutral and less combo-heavy focus extremely repetitive (not just for Kitana). As it is now, I personally think Mortal Kombat 11 will have the least replay value out of the reboot trilogy.

Yep, in MKX, characters had like many base combo strings.

MK11 has less combo, so we always see the same combo route for every character, with less creativity. I hope Mk12 will looks more like MKX and 9.

Or just MK11 being deeply reworked, with new combos added, for example. Or dial-in combo being deleted.

When people say the game is "boring to watch" are they talking about tournaments or some other expo? Or just randomz playing?

In terms of "boring to watch," that would typically mean watching tournaments.

Personally, I don't think Mortal Kombat 11 is boring, but as I mention above, the more I've played it, the more I've found it repetitive. Repetitive in a game is not necessarily a bad thing (look at the Diablo franchise), but it depends on the game/genre. For me personally, I'm finding it hurting the fun I'm supposed to be having for the game.

For watching tournaments, I don't find them boring either, but I certainly find them less hype than the two Mortal Kombat games before it simple because they too, oft seem repetative and there's far less "flare" and "style" to enjoy; it's less of a visual spectacle in my opinion.

What's the deal with her B1? It gets low profiled by so many D3s and D4s. Kung Lao matchup is insane or is ti just me? I hit him with D1 and he mashes D3 and it beats my B1 lol. Her D2 also whiffs on him in air sometimes.

It’s just you. There’s no way he should be able to d3 at all if you do d1 into b1 on hit. You’re mistiming it

F2 has this problem, not B1. But b1 has awful startup so if you block a d3 and go for a b1, itll lose.

Honestly, just block two d3s and d4 him so theres pushback.

When I look at match replays, its always -4 and if I'm lucky 0 on block. Everyone in KL pokes out of it. I saw a pro player use all 3 fans but I thought it was punishable if you did it that way?

Razors are never “oh so plus” on block. That’s one thing about highborn people definitely overhype. It’s only +1, you have to be extremely perfect with it, and (correct me if I’m wrong) it has to be on the 3rd fan.

Its legit like a slot machine for frame data. Am I gonna be -4 or -1? Either way most players are gonna atleast try to poke out of it.

Watched Sunfirexo on exhibition last night on Ragnarok's stream, she has such a clean kitana.
I noticed as fearless or fanfare after B141 on block, she'd instantly shorthop (either U2 or U3) couldn't tell which one. Thing is, this clipped a guy as an anti-air twice who tried to jump in on her off blocked B141
Is this some known Kitana tech? Was this a flawless block OS? She DID flawless block off blocked B141 later in the set. Kinda cool that shorthop would cover a jump in.

You can be plus on either 2nd or 3rd fan. But until you master it online - she's very average. I can barely time it to be +1 offline.
 
So i've been playing strictly fan-fare recently, and there is my thoughts on how to make this character viable:
First off all NRS really need to nerf Highborn chip damage and fix on block framedata, it's really weird to play when you nor your opponent know if + or -, makes no sense. Just random.

About Fan-Fare and in general buffs
- b1 11 frames from 13, we already have one of the slowest d1 in the game, so our primary punisher move shoudn't be that slow, not to mention game literally filled with characters that have 6f d1 THAT also have better mid and on top of that can also zone with you.
-bf3 being able to amplify on block
-FIX b231 WHIFF ISSUES FOR GOD SAKE
-opponent not being able to breakaway from fan-lift

Those little tweaks and buffs will really make her solid character in my opinion.

In General i hope they will also make pokes more minus on block for all characters, like being -2 after 6f d1 is pretty bullshit i think.

Not to mention her d1 is actually punishable on block rofl. And her d3 is extremely short so against many chars she can't use either to counterpoke
