The majority don't like MK11. Are you gonna deny that?
Can't deny it but can't agree with it either. That "majority" you talk about are the comments here, on twitter etc, these are mostly negative towards the game. But how can you say that small sample is a majority of the whole community? What about those who shut up, play and actually enjoy it? How exactly do you know who's majority here? Because numbers suggest this is the most played NRS game at this time.

Well, let's see how NRS will react to this. Personally I believe they are in shock, (because unlike what some people are trying to convince others, evo is a big deal) and some drastic changes are coming to MK11.

Or maybe they'll just abandon the game, wouldn't be surprised.
how retarded do you have to be to believe that nr stops now with producing content for mk11 just because they are not part of the evo 2020 lineup. mk11 had the highest numbers of any mk game with 1567 people participating in it. mkx sold over 10 million units.

1567 of 10m people are 0,01567%
thats how important evo is for warner when it comes down to making content for the game to earn money...it doesnt matter jackshit!
whatever plans they have with the game...being part of evo or not doesnt change anything.

By abandon I mean not bothering to correct the glitches and problems of the game. Obviously they are gonna release their planned DLC, but who knows if they will support the game for years as they originally planned.

When it comes to making money they are clearly top. As was explained by brazilian_sheep the game is awesome at everything else but the competitive aspect of the game.

It is not. Fighting game companies pay Mr. Wizard money for their games to be included and NRS refused to pay up because they believe that they do not need EVO for anything. Some individuals in this community ignore this fact, either intentionally or unintentionally, in order to pursue their own agenda about how much the game sucks. This thread is a perfect example.
It’s astounding how many people on here literally do absolutely zero work with tournaments & think the reason MK11 isn’t being added has anything to do with the quality or lack of

Imagine thinking a situation that can only end in a clean hit or stagger offense starting is footsies.

Crimson is weird man.
Except eventually moves were whiffed and a whiff punish was landed.

'Can only end in a clean hit or stagger offense' is nonsense. It can end in an unpunished whiff, a punished whiff, a block, or a hit just like any other fighting game (and most of these are in that clip, not to mention the thousands of other clips you could make).

People want to speak their minds my man, If you like the game good for you and everyone else who does, I don't get why the 'haters' don't let you enjoy it.

The whole point of what you call 'hating', is to deliver the message that there are big problems with this game. Now that MK11 didn't make it to EVO, it's an opportunity we all accept it -instead of making up stories-, and let NRS know what we (the majority) don't like, because contrary to what you said, the game can still change to something good an fun.
Seriously, what majority is that?

Maybe i'm out of the loop here since i play on PC, but the game is every now and then hitting 3k+ more online players on steam, this despite issues people are having with the port, it's already Tekken 7 levels of active users, way more than any other Mortal Kombat ever did. Are you people on console having trouble finding matches or something?

Then i look at the tournament numbers and they were higher than any other NRS games. If you show me actual data to back you up, i will be corrected and accept what you are saying.

No one is against any sort of criticism towards game, i can make you a list of my own issues with the game if you want, however for some people, everything about MK11 apparently is trash, even when you compliment the game someone has to come up saying how it sucks, if people hate it so much, why even play it then? There are plenty of fighting games there, many great options also.

It reached a point where those who genuinely enjoy the game are being labelled as shills, fanboys, dumb or whatever. If i actually disliked MK11 in it's entirety, i wouldn't even waste my time playing, let alone coming here to talk about.

This thread is about MK11 not making to evo. Thus we are supposed to discuss the problems with the mechanics of the game which caused such a result. It doesn't make a difference if there are 3000 players on pc who enjoy watching fatalities and the fatal blow animations. It's fucking MK, no matter how bad, glitched and boring the gameplay is there always will be active players just because of the gore.

Nobody is giving nobody shit about enjoying the game. It's the opposite. People were constantly insulted and bullied by NRS white knights for daring to post a negative comment about MK11.

And FYI most people did move on.

Imagine thinking that the game selections at EVO are based on Mr. Wizard’s in-depth knowledge of every game’s mechanics.. And not on the Capcom Illuminati picking whatever will advance their own interests best that year.

The only reason most did not notice this before, is that before it was happening to someone else's game, rather than ours.

Agendas, conspiracies, and whatever else but no way is MK11's fault.

Allegedly.

People jumping to conclusions like Superman jumps over skyscrapers.
What a weird conclusion for someone to jump into, right?

Thank you very much for just proving my point. Acording to your view. basically no one is playing the game because they actually think it's good, it's because they like watching fatalites(even thought it's rarely done anymore in online matches).

Daring to post a negative comment about MK is hostilized. go to the front page: Bruno Neospace made a topic criticizing the pokes system, people were there discussing just fine.

Most people moved on, yet thousands of views just yesterday for a online tournament for a series that just started.

You are just saying things that are happening only in your head and mistaking it for facts.

Crimson there was no whiff punish in that clip are we watching the same game? Somebody getting clipped by a random button in a scramble isn't a whiff punish dawg

Dude when I said most people moved on, I was reffering to the people who don't like the game. I was basically answering to your "I don't get why people who don't enjoy the game waste their time and don't move on".

Also, I never said everyone plays just because of fatalities. But a very high percentage does. I could never deny that there are people who enjoy the game.

It wasn’t random. He waited for him to whiff (and very patiently so, walking in and out of F3 range to bait it) and divekick punished it. Splash wasn’t just tossing random dk’s out on block.

In fact, if it’s not obvious enough from watching, Mr. Aquaman explains exactly what Splash is doing right before it happens.

Come on dude.

I dunno what to tell you, if Splash was looking for a B3 by doing a divekick that's pretty lame lol.

Like, why would you get hit there? He did a max height jump, that's reactable while still enforcing the B3. I don't see how this is calculated, it just looks like Splash threw out a jump back and reacted to seeing any movement at all. If Kombat had dashed into block, Splash still would've dive kicked as far as I can tell.

You have to be kidding. He whiffed before Splash had even hit the apex of his jump. There’s no way Splash couldn’t react to that in time.

He anticipated it, baited it out and had plenty of time to punish.

Very good points you made there.

Most important, will NRS agree/ notice and do something about it in the future? I hope they can put their pride aside and learn from MK11

sounds credible to me, but is there actual proof for this?

Sorry, but no public proof. Only private sources who wish to remain anonymous. I have searched the internet but found nothing on Mr. Wizard's financial matters.

I did find this amusing, though.

What do you expect to see from Mortal Kombat X in its sophomore effort?

Mr. Wizard:
With the announcement of Mortal Kombat XL and their revamped efforts on netcode, I think a lot of people will be playing this game again. I also imagine that with this release will come a big balance patch as well. NetherRealm Studios did an excellent job of balancing Mortal Kombat 9 a few years after the game came out, and I will expect nothing less from them this time around. Look forward to seeing this game on the big stage at Evo this year!

So the guy who thought Mortal Kombat 9 was balanced as recently as 2016 made an elaborate decision to exclude Mortal Kombat 11 from EVO this year because of the game's meta. Who can possibly believe this?
