I disagree, I’ve seen plenty of characters from anime fighters that made me wish MK characters were as “cool” as they looked.
Yeah that game is the exception, but look at the most popular games like Tekken, SF, character cast and visuals are really bad.Bro I dunno what street ur walking down but guilty gear characters are some of the weirdest shit I have ever seen. Theres one dude who is passed out on a bed while the bed beats the shit out of people. Also a shark-mech with human shaped teeth / arms and legs and some guy inside of it's mouth (possibly controlling it?)who is for some reason accompanied by a dog (also inside the shark's mouth).

I mean, I am. I genuinely believe this is the best MK roster. There's a great combination of new, old, and returning characters with some of the best guests coming (though I still think Freddy is #1 guest). One of my only complaints of the roster isnt so much the roster itself and more the lazy copout by NRS in not including other realms that would 100% be affected by the temporal crisis.
It sounds like you want the roster to cater mostly to you while I'm trying to have the popular and mainstay characters people have grown with stay around. You're saying a lot of ,"me" and I'm thinking about mk as a whole. People are definitely upset favorites are taking backseats to kollector cetrion joker or terminator. A lot of people love mk for the ninjas and the borgs and you just want them to not make multiple base roster appearances? That's almost as bad as people who say scorpion and subzero should sit out for a game. Mileena sitting out makes sense for story but Scarlett is nowhere near a replacement for her. Cetrion looks like something made for Injustice. If cetrion wasn't as good as she is most people probably wouldn't be playing her. Yeah because Frost didn't just become female cyber subzero.
And you don't want it catered to you? Is that not exactly what you're saying when you say X should be in and Y should be out? Only you can have desires for characters being in and opinions on who should sit out just because your desired character list includes all the older characters? Drop this shitty tactic of the nostalgia pandering high ground. Not every game is going to be MK9 + some other characters.
I definitely feel for them as I have characters I'd love to see, but I also fully understand that I'm not the one making the game so I won't get everything I want. Instead, I'll enjoy what I've got and MK11 has given me a lot more than MK9 and MKX ever did.
