means you're hitting them for a combo. Unless I've been wrong all these years. Like say, mk9 scorpion teleport. He does that on block, balls up into a ball and is like -200000 and you get a full combo punish.
Something being less negative than the fastest combo starter is considered safe because there is time to block the opponents attack. Yes, you lose your turn, but you're not getting blown up.
Ah. I don't think you have to be able to get a combo on block for it to be considered "punishable". It's just not
full combo punishable. If a D1 is guaranteed to land after blocking the attack, the D1 is still a punish (and will say so on the screen).
But I know what you mean now.
Jax SHOULD struggle a bit more than jacqui to get in, don't you think? She cant chip you at all until she's in B2 range, and anything other than walking in risks her getting punished (dash punch), or at least losing her turn (B2, B22).
Sure, Jax obviously wants to be in your face as well, but he has options
outside of that. Jacqui can't chip you with MB heat missile. She can't catch jumpers with a lobbing projectile. She can't force a jump or low block with ground pound. All she can do is walk, or gamble with Bf2/B2/B22. To give Jax a safe way to suddenly blast past any zoning would make him even more insane than he already is! (
cough FB cough)
I'm not arguing that one is better than the other. They're both at the top of my list for sure. I would just be
TERRIFIED to see a Jax that can pester me from full screen, and then decide to safely charge at me to start his up-close nonsense as well!
As much as I'd love to see both of them touched by the nerf angel, give me a Jacqui over a Jax any day.
