I think they will do a big update MKXL style amd will shake things up opening customs or maybe 3rd variations which is more plausible. Can we really expect a kp2? I'm starting to doubt it... interest level for this game will be so low.
I honestly can't blame WB if NRS decides to invest time in shitty and uninspiring modes (AI Battle? Really?), 500 consumables that nobody asked for, instead of testing their game. After 4 months we get a patch with a bunch of changes, but we still have no clue if high attacks whiffing on crouch blocking or depending on enemy character is intentional or not (problem they had with at least last 3 mk games).Yet people said that was the most fun ?Question mark?
We need to stop relying so much on wanting balance and focus on wanting a crazy fun game! Balance will always come later. But thats another topic for another discussion.
That will always be the case because MK always appealed to mostly casuals since the beginning of time. That will never change.
As far as how WB affected gameplay, they did indirectly. Its called time. No pun intended. Its BLATANTLY obvious that these game modes ideas were very rushed which is why we have the current state of MK today. If NRS had more time working on the game, it be soooo much better than what we have now. Things would go so much smoother with the rollout of this game, and people would be more happy with this game, instead of being content with it. If you're content with mediocrity paying $100 knowing their best wasn't put into it, thats fine. But i bet you in the future, after this, people wont have much trust in MK in the future knowing they felt cheated with this whole mess.
7 months bruh stopWaiting 7-9 weeks between each character release for a fully completed character with a scanned model's face, full model rigging and animations, full voice acting with in-fight / win / intro dialogues, defined base kit, 6-8 variation moves, two tournament variations, krushing blows, fatal blow, a full set of fatalities and brutalities, win poses, round win poses / walks, character select animations, a full suite of costumes + color schemes and gear for 3 slots, and all the frame data / damage and balancing of it for the movesets seems pretty logical a time window to wait.
I agree that it sucks that Spawn is the last in line. He's second only to Sindel for my most anticipated character for the pack. However, let's not act like there isnt a fuckton of work that goes into each individual character, especially if NRS is reformatting their workflow style to avoid oppressive crunch.
This is about making a game thats fun to play. Balance is a non factor.Of the past 3 MK games, the LEAST balanced one was the one without variations
Thats what im saying! They're going to have to re-vamp their whole KP schedule and strategy to keep that interest. Because im gonna keep it all the way live with you, after this KP1 Im currently not interested in buying KP2 if they're going to treat it the same way.Can we really expect a kp2? I'm starting to doubt it... interest level for this game will be so low.
You wanna know why you see less people complaining about DBFZ? Because people dropped that game faster than it became popular. I get it you like, DBFZ. You like games for what it is. We both came from that era where there weren't any DLC, no patches, just straight up either you like it or you dont. The oldschool of gaming. But the difference between those games and now is that those games were COMPLETE from jump!NRS is now following a release date schedule that other fighting games follow and people acting like the sky is falling.
2 months between characters is fine, and is the industry standard. Hell DBFZ just had to go 3 months between characters and has ACTUAL balance concerns that merit serious discussion compared to MK and I still see less people complaining about it.
There is no problem here at all.
7 months for the last one, I think it's a bit much but I guess you have to account for the x-mas vacations and shit. And how long it takes to design a new character and balance them with the rest of the cast.7 months bruh stop
How do you figure? And I'm saying the release schedule IS part of the problem because its not cohesive to keep people playing this game in the long run.
Sure it is. Who says it isn't?All im saying is MK11 is not the type of game to be waiting 2 months for a single character to maintain interest.
Well, it's either this or a lot of crunch time. Which one do you prefer? To get DLC out fast for your convenience and not care about the devs' personal time or health, or that the devs take their time to make these characters the best they can be without having to suffer from all the crunch time forced on them? All im saying is MK11 is not the type of game to be waiting 2 months for a single character to maintain interest. Its not like other fighting games to be comparing the DLC rollout to at all.
You're looking at each character in a vacuum instead of as a line of interconnected content. Yes, it will be 7 months before Spawn releases. That's objectively correct. The thing is, it's not like the developers are just sitting around twiddling their thumbs for those 7 months. We have Terminator to be completed by early October, Sindel to be completed by late November, Joker to be completed by late January, and Spawn to follow in March. Again, 7-9 week windows between each. Looking at it as if Spawn is the only DLC coming which means he should come earlier is disingenuous.7 months bruh stop
This is why NRS games die. Pump out everything ASAP, complain it feels unfinished or broke or rushed, move on because you already got your content and they need to work on the next thing. All im saying is MK11 is not the type of game to be waiting 2 months for a single character to maintain interest. Its not like other fighting games to be comparing the DLC rollout to at all.
Well, it's either this or a lot of crunch time. Which one do you prefer? To get DLD out fast for your convenience and not care about the devs' personal time or health, or that the devs take their time to make these characters the best they can be without having to suffer from all the crunch time forced on them?
Hehehehehehe... Sutter in Danish means "Sucking". Thought it was funny...
You accurate bastardsHehehehehehe... Sutter in Danish means "Sucking". Thought it was funny...
Tekken 7 has more characters and a HUGE movelist for each character. It takes waaaaaaaaaaaay longer to learn. Like years! Smash Bros....c'mon really? Their roster is even bigger than Tekken 7 but their depth comes more from movement on how to attack with the less moves they have. So that takes a long time to even get down let alone master. How do you figure?
One character every two months is pretty standard. Smash Ultimate has a roughly 3 month cadence. Samsho has a slightly slower cadence than MK11. Tekken 7 doesn't come out with one character a month, so I'm not sure what the problem is here.
Thing is, this is just a hollow statement. An opinion of yours. Considering you don't know NRS' development process or how many people they have on making these DLC characters, your statement is rather invalid.MK11 DOES NOT HAVE ENOUGH DEPTH TO HAVE A DLC CHARACTER SPREAD OUT FOR MONTHS TO KEEP MOST PEOPLE PLAYING!
