Jade main here, and anyone saying she doesn't do enough damage mid screen must be joking...if she can zone you she doesn't damage...she's fine. She can switch sides and can keep the opponent at a distance with her strings and moves which is what you want.

I mean, at this point after 4 months and a "major" patch, Cage mains have the right to complain about his character still whiffing, why is this still an issue? Something like this should have never been in the game in the first place, is NRS really that incompetent they can't fix the issue after this many months, who knows when they will actually fix this...

I'm gonna say Kitana. I look at Kabal, then at Kitana, then back at Kabal and, while Kabal seems better... they're so gosh darn similar, there's no way the difference between Kabal and Kitana are the difference between a high and low tier.

As a kabal player with plenty of mu exp in that matchup, kabal does everything kitana does but better. More damage, better buttons, similar zoning, significantly better frame data. Kitana is just made absolutely obsolete by him.

Jade is perceived as downplayed because the people who think we downplay her never spent a minute against her in Practice mode to see whether we are right or not. Some random idiot even admitted to this and told me that, lol hang onto your chair, "I live in the lab and that's not where the game is played" lmfao.

Jade is a decent mid-tier now, which doesn't mean her problems are not real or that she doesn't need things changed, or that she can win a tournament with these problems existing. It means that there are characters who are even worse off and the fact that we want her to be better does not change the fact that there are other characters as well who could be and should be better as well.

The context is that Jade has never been a good character and now we want her to be as good as Cassie.
Not stupid, not broken, but a solid reliable tournament pick that can win majors.

I realise this is too much to ask according to some people.
But the important part of that sentence is "some people".

I don't think that putting tiers to concepts is a good way of addressing character balance.
It makes you sound like the other person is automatically wrong in wanting their character to be tournament-viable when in a competitive game that's the bare minimum anyone would logically want their characters to be.

You seem to have this warped idea that tiers and character viability are some sort of crime to address and this isn't the first time I correct you when I tell you that it's not absolute and definitely not a valid argument.

Finally, I need to remind you that talking facts and frame data and comparing it to better characters is not some sort of sin or wrong or a taboo.

If you think that's downplaying then I don't know what to tell you.

To re-iterate, I don't care what "tier" Jade is.
I want her to be good enough to win majors.
Currently, she is not, for reasons widely discussed in the Jade thread.
That's not downplaying. Downplaying would be saying Air Glaive is not that dominant or that it isn't top3 projectile currently.

Maybe that's just because not enough people are complaining. NRS is known for patching games while intoxicated hence random changes nobody asked for, but Scorpion got a slight nerf at least due to everybody getting mad. I don't even think you can call it a nerf because it just made them play smarter and more passive.

NRS will never buff a zoning character's damage output. Look at what they did to Shang Tsung. LOL. In general, all the character who have good space control have a below average or poor damage output.
