Only once. A fight prior to it, some guy quit on me and I didn't gain any points. Then, I lost to someone right after that match, he kept tea-bagging and then inputted a fatality. I just closed the game because it was my last match anyway.

This for me mostly. A few times i've come across players like that and i'll just drop the controller and let them have their practice mode dummy. No point in trying to do anything when i've literally got 0% chance at getting a hit in let alone winning a round. But other times i'll quit just because i can't be stuffed waiting for the guaranteed loss.

And i don't see what the big deal is. As far as i'm aware, if you quit (not disconnect), the other player still gets his finisher (if it's not before the end of the game), they still get their points and they still get the win. So whats the problem?

Yep. You quit at Finish Him, you don't have to wait 5sec + fatality + win pose + currency count. It's a small amount of time, but it does add up over time. People might say it's because they're salty, and there is that to some degree, but just getting to the next match as quickly as possible is what it's about.

And then there's this... which is also true.
This is where we differ. I never believe there's 0 chance. I could be playing against sonicfox, Lebron or fighting against Daniel Cormier and I'll still feel like I have a chance. I might not win but I feel I can always learn. Failure and struggle builds and showcases character in my eyes. This is why I can't quit at any competition. Also quitting freezes games and people don't always get the win.

I may be cruel but part of my allure to the zone style is the frustration it creates. I actually thrive off listening to people loose their damn minds trying to get in on me. If they quit that’s just the best. It’s like I take their soul, and something barbaric inside me gets off on that.
To each their own. I just like challenging myself against people that can possibly beat me. Nothing about me "gets off" about winning. I just want to challenge my skills against someone elses.

You probably have a healthier attitude than I do. I’ll often exchange what is optimal for what is annoying.

I’m a very nice guy outside of the game but when I’m in game I’m a huge asshole like a different person. Like a werewolf.

Nope. Childhood rule was you don't ever quit something you started. Being bad at something can't always be helped, but being a quitter is a choice. If you quit in a video game, life is gonna be real tough.

If you quit against me I take a screen shot and send it to you so you have a momento to what a complete pussy you are.
The fact that you go to the trouble of taking a screenshot and sending it to them as a memento is pretty lame tbh. If someone quits on you as annoying as it is just move on. Why waste any added time on that person? Plus I guarantee the type of people who constantly quit games they are losing won't see that picture and be like "wow, that guy just proved I'm a pussy".

Some guy beat me with Shang and sent me like 5 pictures of the people he’s beat with the “your soul is mine” pointing Shang picture. I was impressed with the amount of effort put into a casual ft2 lmao. In the end it takes a real pussy to ride your own dick that hard.

I've quit out of other multiplayer games sure. Especially if it's a long match style team game and we've already had a teammate D/C or something like that. Typically though I'm going to ride it out.

I don't drop out of fighting games midmatch though which is why I answered no on the survey. I mean that's ridiculous unless something IRL comes up unexpectedly.

Also I call BS on people not wanting to sit through a fatality or brutality because "they're pressed for time" like that shit lasts 20 minutes lol. It's salting out plain and simple. Which is fine if that's your prerogative or whatever, just call it what it is.

Do you really think anyone cares about another person's record/streak? You do and they don't. It ends there. Trying to make it out like it's always due to salt or some deficiency in your moral code doesn't change a thing.

People can have a perfectly valid reason for doing it that has nothing negative behind it as a reflection of their persona. That's absolutely ludicrous.

Sure, it could apply to some, but just because it does doesn't mean it applies to everyone.

People simply want to move on and that's what they do. It's that simple.

Quit at finish him and it's ~10sec till you're searching for the next match.
End with a normal at finish him and it's 23sec.
End with a fatality and it's ~34sec. And that's not accounting for people being a dick before they do one.

So say what you want about it not being about time... the numbers show otherwise. It can be over 3 times longer waiting for all the bullshit instead of just getting to the next match.

You can be starting your next match instead of still waiting to count your souls and hearts.

It takes no effort at all. All I do is tap the share button on the controller. I have it set for easy screen shots.

LMAO right man. That 24 secs is just too long. It's not about being salty at all its about time management lol. Gtfo dude.

I mean if you want to quit out because you're in such a hurry whatever man. It's a free country. Just don't rationalize it as "efficient time management" when it's literally a few additional seconds.

If I do leave it's because of the following, Taking a Phonecall, Gotta Leave for Work, Very Laggy, Or if someone is at the door, those are pretty much the only times.

I let it rock when I get someone at the door. Sometimes the opponent is cool and just crouch blocks until I get back. I do the same for other people too

I got my ass handed to me super bad against a sub zero player. I was Jax and this player was playing so aggressively and kept using Sub’s crazy mixups and one game I was getting destroyed so badly I left the game right when I got killed before he could do a fatality. I never had a game where I was losing THAT bad so I tilted as hell

I don't really consider it rage quitting when someone quits during a finisher. That just makes sense, coming from KI where you could style with double/triple ultras it just makes sense to quit out. There's no two way interaction there you're just watching a cut scene, it'd be no different than quitting story cut scenes in a game you've already beaten before.

Rage quit to me is when you win a round handily open up the second round with a clear advantage and the person just quits out.

The ONLY time I ever quit is due to unplayable lag, and even then, I usually tough it out. I never quit on a loss, never quit on teabaggers, no matter how much I want to. Is only game.

In fighting games in general, I won't quit unless your internet is obnoxiously bad.

In MK11, I'll leave if I lose as soon as it says finish him/her so they still get their points etc.

Everybody online LOVES to teabag and Prolong an inevitable Fatality and I'm sorry but my off time is extremely precious. I'm not going to sit there through those shenanigans. I work 2 Jobs and go to the gym on a regularly basis. My free time is limited and everything to me.

If you win, that's awesome. I'm not going to stick around to watch you teabag then fatality.

I very rarely quit unless I have to.

I quit on a measly 3 win streak in the KL (was halfway through winning my 4th game) at a gaming cafe the other day. Why? Because I was super hungry and it wasn't my account that was affected.

Sometimes it just really doesn't matter. On my own account though? I've only quit once and that was because I was absolutely induced with rage. Realised after that happened that it's not really the best way to go about things.

3 Pages of "Why I'd NEVER!!" lol.

Yet every time I play KL I get the drop on these super laggy random ass Scorpions and the first thing they do when they realize mashing d1 won't lead to a big juicy combo is ragequit.

Somebody's lying

Quitting is lame.l and just comes off as poor sportsmanship. I feel it’s disrespectful.

I have only quit one time ever. It was a kasual match a few days ago. Lag was so bad it was unplayable. I don’t care about W/L so there was no point in wasting my time with that garbage.

I would never quit a Kombat League match though. I need dem points!
