What's new

To be honest, I like the grind

The grind is horrible IMO.
Just yesterday I finished a tower, a new tower appeared and there it was: a 2 hour tower with a Baraka brutality that I didn't have. The problem is, towers like these take around 25 minutes to complete and I needed to leave immediately for an appointment. I'm sorry MK11, my life doesn't revolve around you and I don't play 24 hours a day.
Sometimes you come home, open up the multiverse towers of time and see stuff you really want with 10 minutes ticking down the clock. You can't do anything about it.
The fatal blow requirement in character towers is horrendous. That just means that I have to stop and get beaten up by the opponent to get it. Lame.
The Krypt is really nice looking and has a cool layout (if you ignore Shang's throne room making zero sense), but after the first sweep the reset chests will give almost nothing. The hearts are useless after a while, souls are slower to get and are also a cat in the bag. All you can do is throw your money to the six-armed man.
And my least favorite part: the outros and intros. To get them you need to beat five character towers. I'd say to do that you need to fight around 300 matches as that character, all with the same intros/outros, doing the same two fatalities over and over and hearing the same dialogues over and over (because for some reason some dialogues come out a lot more than others).
I do it because I really enjoy the gameplay but I really don't think it's a good system. It keeps me coming back by going "if you don't come back in the next five minutes you'll not get this skin this month" and that's mobile game tactics.

truth spoken here, I share the same vision about this ridiculous "time wasted" grinding system, hehe :D

AFAIK, they made it so when you're on a tower with little to no time left, it won't kick you out this time on consoles.

Thankfully, they fixed that with this week’s patch. Now it won’t kick you out of the portal if you’re already in it and working on it. You can finish all of the towers within, even after the timer depletes, as long as you don’t back out.

They did? Fantastic news.
They also seemed to have improved the loading times.

I don't mind the unlock system given I effectively have everything I want after just one month. That doesn't even feel like it deserves the term "grind"

But a ton of towers/krypt content is just poorly thought out.

Augments are a joke and almost always do nothing of any significance. Effects like "+3% damage to a 10% move (so +0.3% really) only if your character is AI and only if its a boss battle and only if your character is third in the lineup.

Variation Icons are a joke.

Immunity konsumables are a joke. Anything that grants you immunity to things like poison has a ridiculous 100+ frame recovery that will allow the AI to bash away any lifebar you had hoped to save by using it anyway.

AI battle is a joke. Who finds this fun?

This game was rushed to meet the given date, lots of crunch time in NRS, I feel like throughout the time.. this whole thing might be fixed, they've had lots of positively concurrent patches coming so far and I am happy.

I think it can be better. I don't like having to purposely turn on and keep my system on while my AI fighter grinds for currency while I'm having to do other things.

Average "life" of a video game is 15 - 20 hrs, and for those completionists 30 + hrs. They should have made it so you can unlock MOST of the items within a reasonable time without too much "grind".

I noticed that too. Now it seems to start loading immediately while still on the tower screen, instead of waiting until the loading screen. Saves a couple seconds or so.

Man you like 100+ hours of grind? I hope you vaporize as much as i do...gonna be a long week...sticky brickz 4 life son!

Well, it looks like my unpopular opinion on the grind remains unpopular.

Should you be able to unlock things faster? Sure, but as it is, I don't have much of a problem.
Its not about getting stuff faster but how you have to get it. If it would take twice as long but i wouldnt have to do dumb ai battles and lame ToTs (which boil down to dumb ai battles too) i would trade it in a heartbeat.

What's the point of a random Krypt?

This, so much. I read so many paople say things like "The problem is everyone is entitled and wants to unlock everything in a few weeks". That is simply not the case. I don't care how long it takes, I just don't want to be forced to watch AIs battling between themselves to unlock certain stuff.

I suggest letting Noob Saibot with sickle grab and 30/30 (combo/reversal or reversal) do the towers if you get sick of doing them, you can use a turbo controller to make it press X.
There are also ways to do this by running the PS4 remote play app on your PC with an AutoHotKey script -- I believe there is a similar app for XBone as well, or if you're on PC you can obviously just do that directly with the running program.

The fact that I have to perform a fatal blow as a finisher on 18 characters when my enemy consistently can fatal for 960 damage is ridiculous. I want the Liu Kang firegod skin. At this point i don't feel it's worth it

BIG D POLE .
It’s fun sorta . I like finding out mysterious about the game like this
By now a lot of us have unlocked a lot of stuff in krypt and now all we get is junk and coins from soul chest and chest . Well I have solution by it requires to use all your senses !!!

Step 1. Refill the chest 100k max it out.
Step 2. Have a good amount of souls .
Step 3. Use Kenshi blind fold and find the hidden chests. There a grip in main courtyard , 2 of them on top of viewing area where Shang Tsung sits. Like 10 in Goros lair . One them is by where see rain and blaze fight .

You will get quite bit skins , forge items like
Mileena veil , kollectors items like children thunder hat.

If think this bad you ain’t seen nothing yet like classic wow or mmo which MK is trying emulate with the krypt etc

Shit feels like the developers crunch has bled into the game.
Like they had to tell themselves that grinding mindlessly is good and fun, in order to not lose their fucking minds getting this game done.

I just wish I was done with all the stuff in the Krypt after sweeping it once.

Not even opposed to their weird tower system aside from the stupid win/krushing blow/fatal blow requirements. Totally fine with towers that only show up every once in a while giving you something cool, and the gauntlet was fun too.

Farming this shit for month so I have the koins to throw down the gutter 90% of the time translating into either stupid augments or items for characters I don't even play, having to search for a stupid orb every two hours, again without guarantee to get anything useful and grinding 10k souls to get into a fucking room that's full of augments is not cool at all...

To bad to be honest, because the Krypt was fun to run through the first time and well-designed, it's just that the whole progression system is like some fucking pay to win MMO without the option to actually pay.

Also where the fuck is the Combo Breaker tower? I've been online for what felt like a whole fucking month, and I have yet to see it.
