PC/Steam Version - Performance, Technical and General Discussion Thread

i have this weird bug (ill get a screenshot later) but when i save a variation the picture of the gear/character isnt centered to the screen so most of the image is blank. this may be because im playing on 21:9.

not experienced a single crash yet.

After messing around some more, I find that really all of the AA options in the game are crap, and everyone's best bet is to turn AA off in game and force it on in Nvidia/AMD control panel. TAA has a ton of weird blur and afterimages on hair and really anything shiny, while the game's FXAA barely smooths jaggies at all so you get a fairly jagged picture with a lot of visual noise. Nvidia's forced FXAA does a much better job than any of MK11's options.

Just ended my second playsession and i have to revise my first statement.

Tried ToT the first time and yeah it's as bad as people say and WB/NRS 100% deserve every bit of the shitstorm that is happening right now because of it.
The cherry on top was the fact that I had to replay one tower 4 times due to server issues and game crashes while the game tried to reconnect to them.

If you already force "always online" bullshit on us, while doing singleplayer content mind you, atleast have some decent servers ffs.
So yeah this game is a goddamn shitshow right now and definitely not worth a recommendation in its current state imo.

Btw why the hell is the fps in the crypt locked at 30 ?

Lower your resolution while changing the variations. It’s a little bug with higher resolutions.

They posted on steamcommunity that they are fixing the port right now.

I just hope that NRS get their act together. The patches being behind is all on them. They just need to send the patch to QLOC to be implemented.
Any link?

Hoping this is a cumulative patch and not "actually this is the day zero with nothing else implemented" patch.

Hey guys, so I've been messing around with the settings just trying to get a smooth FPS and nothing has been working. These are some of my specs and my video card is a Nvidia GTX 960M. I downloaded the most recent driver too. Any ideas?
Someone else can confirm, but I suspect your video card might be the culprit. I know the "M" versions of the cards are not the same as their desktop counterparts.

Have you tried the game's autoconfig option for it's graphic settings?

The 960M is nowhere near enough to play MK11. A normal GTX 960 is approx. 2x the 960M in terms of performance.. And even a GTX 960 is probably not good enough for stable FPS as that card is probably around minimum requirements.

Yeah, I figured that was indeed @DrRevolver's issue.

A normal nVidia GeForce GTX 960 would be fine for the game though, as the minimum is a 670 or 1050, apparently.

I guess a normal 960 would be able to run it, but I wouldn't count on stable FPS unless you really turn down the resolution/gfx settings.
That may indeed be the case. The person would need to experiment with the settings and see. What I'd recommend to them is to use the game's autoconfig and then run the benchmark, and then slowly tweak settings higher to see what they can get. Some trial and error would likely be needed.

I'd love to see the game added to GeForce Experience for optimization, as that would be a simple way for people to configure. I've generally found it to be quite accurate for other games.

Yes, I think we should be treated equally. But at least this isn't MKX on launch day. That was a major disaster, and how can I forget about the patch that erased save data...

I think my hardware is below some of yours, and yet I haven't experienced any crashes or game breaking bugs. My problems are on the graphics (hair, particules, shadows) looking off, probably because of my graphics card. And sometimes in some arenas the game moves like it's on slow motion. I noticed this happened a lot on the first day (stages like the ship, gardens, Tournament), but now is not that frequent.

A friend on Steam told me last night that he was experiencing lots of crashes on Training mode, and he was very specific. Maybe there's something there?

My specs:

Intel Core i5-3330 3.00ghz
8 GB RAM
GTX 750

I just had to lower the resolution to 1600x900 and the game runs great. Oh, and I have to update my drives today. Maybe this will improve performance/visuals a bit.

^This is absolutely the truth. Remember the partial install packages they were testing with the game that caused so many issues? I actually did forget about the patch you mentioned. Thankfully I was at work when it released and didn't get home until after it was pulled, so that didn't hit me.

I remember they gave out the All Krypt Unlock as compensation, which was great, save for those who had unlocked and lost none Krypt content. Some of those skins (i.e. Hotshot Johnny Cage) were not simply to get either.

This port seriously is night and day over the Mortal Kombat X launch.

Just so everyone knows, theres been an official statement on PC / switch patches. We will be getting stability fixes, towers of time updates, and THE BALANCE PATCH either today or tomorrow.
Fantastic man. Here's the post if anyone wants to see the exact wording. There's actually two patches on the way. The breakdown of each within.

For anyone with an nVidia video card, Mortal Kombat 11 now shows up in GeForce Experience; you can now optimize the game's video settings through here.

For me, the only change it wanted was to turn on Frameskip, so I'll try that and see if I notice any differences, pro or contra.
