Everyone wants every god damn detail revealed.
You can only decide for yourself what you want to do. So what if others want all the details? What does that have to do with you? Avoid MK forums and youtubers if you don't want to get spoiled. It's your own responsibility. But you can't tell others what they can or can't do.

Let me guess.. she also doesn't have a huge executional barrier, doesn't feel very different from the way she played in MKX, and has some of the best skins in the game?
It's almost become a meme at this point. XD

How is Frost a secret lol
I don't think she is tbh. They haven't revealed her obviously, but I don't think she's gonna be the secret unlockable. I think she's gonna be in the Kombat Kast with Kitana and D'Vorah. At least I'm hoping she is.

Cetrion is still a possibility.

I feel like I have to link the tweet every time I say that before someone says "BuT GaMe InFoRmER AlReaDy DiD a BreaKDoWN BlAHBLahBlaH"

I'm hoping for Kitana, D'Vorah, and Frost tomorrow.

I definitely don't think it's Shao Kahn though. They wouldn't 'surprise reveal' his gameplay. They'd want people to know prior that he's going to be shown. Like they did last week announcing D'Vorah was this week. They'll likely announce that Shao Kahn will be next week in order to get people hyped for him.

They always show the pre order bonus the week before release.

Ask me about my Mileena agenda.
All this talk of Frost's got me wondering. How popular was she when she was revealed? I wasn't around during DA, but she's one of the few 3d-era characters that they're bringing back, so that has to count for something.

I would say that Frost is undoubtedly the most popular 3D-era character. I can't really think of anyone that could kompete.

As for why she could be a secret - as we've seen in trailers, she's not exactly out in the open, she's seen hiding herself beneath a white cloak. To me, that says that it's not unlikely that she'll be present for a portion of story mode intended to be mysterious figure to later be revealed as a surprise of sorts. It's far from a sure thing, but I can see why NRS would potentially make a longstanding fan favourite's return in an unexpected role a big secret.

She wasnt the most popular by any means but she did develop quite the cult following after her first appearance. I like to think of her as the Jason Todd (Red Hood) to Sub Zero's Batman. And we all know how popular Red Hood is. There are many similarities between the two.

The most popular 3D era character? What makes you say that? I think Quan Chi and Kenshi crush Frost completely in terms of popularity. I'd say Fujin and Havik are way above her too.

If Sub-Zero is Batman relevance/popularity wise I'd say Frost is more like Tim Drake, or even Damian Wayne in that regard. Actually Damian is the perfect comparison in this context IMO.

I wasn't really considering MK4 when I said that, granted. When I think 3D-Era I think of the three games where 3D movement was a thing, while MK4 was 2D gameplay in a 3D environment. That's my bad. Kenshi is a good answer! I forgot about him, for sure. Havik, though? I disagree. I think Havik is definitely one of the more well-liked 3D characters, for sure, but I think that "girl Sub-Zero" is a shoe-in for more popular among the mainstream, whereas Havik's appeal is to a more niche audience. I'm someone who definitely prefers Havik himself, mind!

Fujin!

Apparently Midway/NRS received a lot of hate mail about Frost back in the Deadly Alliance days, because she was "just female Sub-Zero". She didn't return in Deception, the sequel even though Kenshi, Li Mei, and Bo' Rai Cho did, and she only returned in Armageddon because ALL characters had to. The following for the character has improved a lot, but I don't think she is close to being the most popular 3D character.

Kenshi is for sure the most popular. Kenshi has been in every main MK game since he made his debut, with MK11 being the exception to give him a break. But considering all character appearances and the amount of requests I see, I think some characters like Li Mei and Havik may have bigger followings. If you count MK4, then Quan Chi, Shinnok, Tanya, and Fujin have bigger followings for sure.

Frost was brought back in the Deception portable port, Unchained. and I assumed fan demand had something to do with that. I remember back on Deception GameFAQs board in those days, people were desperately looking for Frost-related secrets in Konquest mode/the Krypt thinking that she had to be back. Hmhm, perhaps I had the wrong impression.

Feel like that's still being way too generous to her. She's more like the TDKR Robin, Carrie Kelly.

Yeah. People got mad when she wasn't playable in MKX.
I mean, people got mad that Baraka and Sindel weren't playable in MKX, and I don't think anyone would peg either of those for popular characters. I don't think this is saying much.

Go over there!
Wouldn't anyone like to get the game and actually see some things for themselves for the first time?

Like....oh, there's Frost! Let's take her into practice!

Everyone wants every god damn detail revealed. There's no mystery anymore. The shitbags who get the game early and want to spoil everything before we even get our hands on the game are a whole other problem. I'll be watching a twitch stream of someone playing Tekken and some asshole will start posting MK11 spoilers in the chat just to spoil it for others.
I think honestly most of us just want to be entertained or at least kept interested while watching the Kombat Kast, so of course people will have characters they want to see more than others if they’re going to watch. If the Kast was boring and uninformative to someone then why would they bother to tune in?

Those a-holes who post spoilers online are a whole other ballgame. It’s why I avoid streams, forums and gaming sites completely after the release of a major game or movie with a story I want to experience spoiler-free. And it’s not just chat trolls. F’ing Polygon will post spoiler headlines within a day or two after a big movie release as if its audience deserves spoilers if they didn’t see the movie opening night.
