Why girls love MK so much?

Honestly it'd probably the fact that the series has over the top violence and women of MK are also the do-ers of the violence alongside the guys.

Combine that with all the other stuff like badass character designs, fun story, and the community then it asks the question: "Why wouldn't you like MK?" (Unless you hate gore).

I mean, there are guys who don't like Mortal Kombat or even games in general.
It's not all that much a gender thing.

From my experience, women around me flock more to FPS games and adventure games because they are, let's be honest, more user-friendly and they are still satisfying to play and they can challenge you on hard modes. I don't necessarily think women like MK more than other video games, in any game you really need to have a competitive spirit and if you don't then you won't really care about getting better and putting time and effort into it. FGs take more dedication than any other genre IMO, and I think that's why we see even fewer women in this community. But MK has that nostalgia factor and if you're a 90's kid you'll love the game whether you take it seriously or not.

I also think MOST women don't like to spend that much time on video games, girls like me are really the exception to the rule and that's fine. I get to spend a lot of time with men. :cool:

Im talking about a single genre only: fighting games. In that category i think Mk and tekken are the most beloved by girls.

Well, I can't really say why honestly, cause I'm the kind of person that will accept any challenge. BUT there is something about MK, I think it does a good job to appeal to both men and women and as I said a big part of that is the 90's martial arts tone it always had. It's a very unique game compared to all the other ones out there.

What are your sources?
Do you have any statistics to go from?
Do you have an equal measure of the the like/dislike ratio of female players for each fighting game?
Do you have any legit evidence of this actually being the case?
Do you have anything to back up this claim of yours?
Where do you get this statement from?

I would say there's a surprising amount of girls who play MK compared to other extremely violent games that were primarily marketed to boys/men for most of their franchise's existence.

That's not a controversial observation. Your skin should be thicker then paper. OP clearly meant this as a fun thread anyway

So, given the "nudies" are gone in MK11 and the finishers are caricatures / their blood made jello, the female demographic's support going forward, might be in some jeopardy...

Mortal Kombat sells more than all other fighting games except Smash Bros.
They're both great games that appeal to millions of people.

More people, in general, will end up playing it.

It's not that mysterious, at all.
