You've got to understand, your post just comes off as if you're discriminating based on gender. Girls are people and people just happen to like something or another.

But I'm trying to understand what it is you're trying to say here. Are you surprised girls like a violent fighting game?

Are you assuming Mortal Kombat is more popular among girls than other fighting games, for some reason?
Yeah, there's something there!
That's the point, just one observation that why girls like way more mk than any other fighting game!

lol I feel bad for @Derico. There's nothing wrong with this thread.

If I had to answer, I'd say it's for the same reason that a lot of guys like the series: there's a lot of really cool character designs. I think the MK designs are very appealing, especially to those that like an Eastern or fantasy aesthetic. Additionally, I think MK has a lot value on the surface that doesn't require an in-depth understanding of fighting games to appreciate which gives it lots of universal appeal.

Finally, I would agree that in my experience, if there is a fighting game that women like, it's usually Mortal Kombat. My girlfriend doesn't play fighting games, but even she likes Mortal Kombat, and has her own favorite characters and such. MK just provides a lot more than simply fighting mechanics.

....And my question is, how did you come to the assumption women like MK more than any other fighting game?
Nust my own practical experience with girls that i know, and internet in general!

I see the same with Tekken.

But mk i really saw some passionate mk fan girls that i never seen in any other fighting game.

Maybe im wrong, but just as i said it's just one observation that i made...

'ello baby, did you miss me?
If your premise is correct, probably a few things.

1. The MK movie helped make MK mainstream in the West in a way other fgs are not.

2. MK9/X/11 did that even more. And probably caught a fair few female Injustice fans as well. And it probably doesn't hurt that NRS keeps getting press, good or bad, about how their female character designs have changed. It puts NRS on female gamers' radar all the time. Exposure is marketing.

3. MKX/11 market themselves as casual-friendly games that offer a shitton of content besides just the competitive grind.

So between these 3 factors I would not at all be surprised to learn that a higher % of MK's fans are female, compared to fans of other fgs. Is that true though? I have absolutely no idea.

All this just applies to people in general.
