What's new

Mortal Kombat's website update Roster page

JINNOCIDE

I only show up when a new game's around
https://www.mortalkombat.com/roster

They included new ones, but didn't add Shang Tsung. Still 29 spots.

Kung Lao
RESPECT

Shaolin monk and descendant of Great Kung Lao. The younger Kung Lao claimed his greatness by beating the deadly alliance of Shang Tsung and Quan Chi in Mortal Kombat. Reckless and rebellious, but courageous and indomitable, Kung Lao fights to prove worthy of his glorious ancestors.

Jax Briggs
DUTY

Cyber-enhanced officer of the Special Forces. Jax Briggs lost both arms in the line of duty, but he came back to the battlefield twice as strong thanks to cybernetic upgrades. Even with that power, Jax’s sacrifices burden him. He soldiers onward, honorbound to protect Earthrealm.

Kotal Kahn
ORDER

Osh-Tekk warrior and Emperor of Outworld. Years ago, Kotal saved the Empire from chaos and claimed the throne of Kahn. Now his reign is plagued by rising tensions at home and abroad. Determined to keep order, Kotal wrestles with the temptation to exercise the same brutal tactics as his predecessors.

Noob Saibot
RECOGNITION

Shadow of the Netherrealm. In life, Noob Saibot was known as Sub-Zero. Unjustly murdered by Scorpion, he was resurrected by Quan Chi and granted power over darkness, but as Quan Chi’s slave. Now, Quan Chi is dead. Noob Saibot is finally free to reclaim the honor that was stolen from him.

Liu Kang
RESPONSIBILITY

Shaolin monk and Champion of Earthrealm. Liu Kang was an orphan adopted and trained in the arts of kombat by the Shaolin order. He honored them by defeating Shang Tsung in Mortal Kombat and saving Earthrealm as "the Chosen One," a title that weighs heavy on his shoulders.

Funnily enough, you can find Shang's render and thumbnail if you dig the website a little bit:

I'm a bad bitch, you can't kill me
So i guess this is D'Vorah's default design from now on:

They completely removed that original version with "antennas".
It's still her little icon on the roster select though for me tho. Hopefully the other one is an alternative cause I thought it was neat too.

Ask me about my Mileena agenda.

I've always preferred D'vorah with her hood on, but I can see this still being an alt or something in-game. It could be an 'early concept' thing, but I do like how she looks cleaner here.

'ello baby, did you miss me?

Was anyone else expecting this? Because I wasn't expecting this.

They both look great to me but looking at her final render, old one definitely looks kinda unfinished. But i also like how cleaner the old one looked. Hopefully it will still be in the game. Maybe this is the reason why we are waiting for so long to see her gameplay.

Anyway her render must be one of the most impressive and detailed looking in the game. It really looks absolutely amazing! All the details...

Have you ever seen the Rain?
Please don’t turn Noob Saibot into a boring goodguy snooze-fest.

If they continue this shit, every character in mortal kombat turns into a boring goodguy...

Um... I'm probably extremely slow on the uptake, but I just realized that that's the same coat she wears in MKX, only instead of being all fashionista about it like she was back when she was queen bitch, now the coat is fucking ragged and torn to shreds. Because she's spent the last X months doing everything just to survive from the infinity+1 people that want to murder her.

This is actually a fucking rad visual design choice. Yup. This is it, Chief.

Too bad YOU... will DIE!
It's 28 slots when you haven't clicked into anyone and 29 when you have, which is to me more confirmation that they're vague DLC slots and nobody should read into the number.

So, Shang is in the sites data but they didn’t put him on the updated base roster?!? Sounds like it is very likely that there is one more slot beside 24+Shao Khan. And it might be Shinnok)

We know Shang isn't base roster, so why would they put him on the base roster on their website?
