I think it's a very scummy move to put those faded slots at the end and not specify what they are, specially if they end up being dlc slots and not unlockable character (which is the mostly likely scenario). The marketing and communication in general for MK11 has been pretty bad but this is next level.

Is it scummy if those slots are for secret characters and the reason they haven't said anything or mentioned the extra boxes is because... Ya know... They're secret?

The empty slots filling in as DLC was added is exactly how it worked in IJ2, so I'm not sure why people are so confused this time -- except in that they are desperate to have more characters that haven't been revealed.

It'd be wonderful if there were some secret characters, but at this point Ed has said multiple times , explicitly, that the game is dropping with 25. You have no one to blame but yourself if you expect more than that.

Sorry, I didn't follow Injustice 2, so I didn't know this was bad even back then. Anyway, not putting the DLC mark is stupid.

And regarding Ed Boon... I can't really trust or take seriously anything he says. That's why I'm always doubting him. I already made a post on some other thread why I feel like this. I just can't trust him.

I mentioned the Kuroko situation. If you're going to have secret unlockable characters, why put a slot on your website?

Ed also likes to keep things secret and people to be surprised . . . he's not going to tell people there's secret characters ahead of time, he wants that to be a release day shocker.

I don't know, when he explicitly says 'there are 25' it feels like he's telling the truth lol. If there's one or two secret ones that'd be great, but I think people are tilting at windmills a little bit here.

Given that the entire roster leaked, and there's no hint of these secret characters, I'm not expecting any.

Look, you either accept that they're the unannounced DLC characters or that someone fucked up the site. That's it.

Who knows. Maybe they're guest characters who're excluded from the site. Maybe they'll be added once the full Kombat Pack is revealed. Whatever the case, erase this idea of "secret characters" and there being more than 25 characters on launch from your mind, because that was never promised at all.

Do you think Cary Tagawa would just go like "yeah I'm totes in MK11" before his reveal? Do you think Boon would go "nah in reality PC version blows" in that gif?
Boon and the rest of NRS have literally no reason to lie about the roster size. Even more so considering we have seen the select screen several times and every single time it's had only 25 characters in it.

So many precious hope is crushed when they reveal those spots are for Shang, Li Mei, Mileena and Takeda, the dlc MK characters...

Also why would Noob wanting to reclaim his honor after being murdered and ENSLAVED necessarily lead people to some conclusion that he will be a good guy? Honor doesn't mean what you think it does, lol. He's mad about his REP, his street cred, lol. Doesn't make him good. Assassins and some villains have a VERY different "honor" code than a shaolin monk or a paladin, lol.

And the Cetrion reveal has proven one thing. @Cassie Cyrus can NOT be happy. He wanted no boring humans using guns (yet likes Erron Black who could easily be a SpecForces char if he wasn't a cowboy, lol), he wanted mythical beings who used MAGIC and superpowers. She is almost completely MAGIC and superpowers by definition, lol. But now says Cetrion is displeasing because she is seemingly but not really OP, not Poison Ivy as a reskinned guest character (she's multi-elemental? that's your gripe? lol), or (ugh) Rain... is the real problem that she isn't evil enough? 'cause based on her intros and dialogue bits, she isn't good. She's an elder god so she's certain to be neutral at best.

-No those were different leaks. The Cetrion/shinnok one came from the same guy that leaked there being unlockables and the roster(from the leaked image)

-Think people really liked Mythologies Bi-Han and feel he deserves better and want him back, though I don't think he'll turn good myself.

What is so difficult to understand about me hating on Cetrion? I was expecting a plant-based character, she turned out to be the type of character I hate even more than ordinary human characters, an overpowered, multi-powered god. I'm not a fan of Gods in general.

I was already less happy with Cetrion when I learned she was a Elder God, but I hoped in her story she would be a fallen Elder God that doesn't have so much power anymore.

And I proved you wrong already, Kollector is my NEW favorite character, so what part of me being always unhappy did you made up today?

I love monstrous characters, I love characters that specialize in ONE or TWO types of powers or which have a very awesome personality (Not funny like Cassie though, that is annoying, ESPECIALLY when we have that already in her very own father...) , I hate boring gun human clones, I hate Kombat Children and I hate overpowered Gods.

Easy as butter.

Fair 'nough, lol. I don't mind her. I was expecting more rock/plant and then saw the fire, water, and wind and was like whoa holy crap. She's not my style but I expect to fight against her ALOT as my buddy likes Earth element and so far she or Geras is the closest he's getting, lol. Then again he also likes high mobility to hit and run gameplay style (annoys the crap outta me, lol) and Kung Lao/Noob look just plain dirty. LOL.

I don't think a character has ever let me down before in the way she did when she was revealed. And it started so awesome with her intro where the plants would grow around her, then she suddenly go Tremor on my ass and throw boring rocks and summon Shang Tsung styled lava pools from the earth, then I was like. BIGGEST anti-climax of the century. All she did with plants was grow a tree, and use her hairs like Sindel would... Something that should stay with Sindel in my opinion.

I said it earlier too, I mean the leak that stated his relation to Kronika and Cetrion was right, and he was base roster according to that leak. Either that or he is also a future DLC.
