The History of NRS Trolling A Character Roster Pre-Release and Reasons They Could Be Trolling Again

There's been talk about this on other threads but I sincerely think this point of view deserves it's own discussion.

Lets not forget too long ago when MKX was about to be revealed, we got this image:

NRS has done such a fantastic job of concealing their roster so well. Like we all know though, there's been a huge leak from the inside and the company in charge of making the PC port might be to blame.



Honestly though, I don't believe it and I know some others are starting to see it too.

Take a look at this trophy list for MKX split into catagories for this website:

MKX TROPHIES:

The categories it's split into are:
Complete The Story Mode (5 trophies)
Quick Miscellaneous Trophies (20 trophies)
The First Grind (12 trophies)
The Online (14 trophies)
The Second Grind (4 trophies)
The Invasion (4 trophies)

Now take a look at this link that leads to all the trophies that were "leaked":

We're made to believe that there is going to be one individual trophy for all 25ish characters on the base roster just for completing 2 fatalities for them? Doesn't that sound a little off to you?

Even in MK9 there weren't trophies with every character's individual name in it. It just seems odd.

The only character's name who is completely spelled out on the leak list is D'Vorah, a character we all know is confirmed already. It's just too coincidental for me.

Where are the achievements for story mode?
Where are the achievements for online?

It's just all too convenient.

Conspiracy theory? Hell yeah. But I don't think it's all too impossible considering NRS.

They didn't take any of the achievements down, at least not for long. They put it in alphabetical order.

LSBH, why would why provide all these names as red herrings? It's not like they are like, "OHO you thought we were gonna put in well liked character Kotal Khan but it was actually Havik the whole time!"

Thats what i said a couple times before, its just too many wasted trophies to have just do fatalities with each char

I agree that NRS has a habit of trolling and trying to throw their fan base off the true scent...but I don't think this is one of those times, man.

The achievements have only gone down once, and now they've been up for quite some time. In addition, it seems only one or two people associated with NRS have even acknowledged the leaks. If they were trolling, I feel like they'd be playing it up a bit more.

In all likelihood, they're just as shocked as we are, and probably more than just a little dismayed. How to properly address this is probably one of their top priorities at the moment, given that a lot of the reveal planning more likely than not just went out the window.

If I were a betting man, I'd bet on this being the true roster. I could be wrong. We all could be. But, I just don't think we are.

I don't know why NRS would troll with this roster. "Haha, you thought JADE and KOTAL KAHN would be in this game!? LOL. I bet you also thought Kung Lao WOULDN'T be a story NPC!"

There's not much else to hope for aside from maybe Rain changed his name to Terry.

While i believe the leaked part of the roster is real its still weird to me how it got leaked.

It was an entire day after already Erron Black leaked.

Also the what kind of achievements leaked. D´Vorah that got revealed just days earlier was the only character specific trophy that got spelled out is kinda weird.

No story spoilers but only achievements that just teased the already announced Krypt.

This is just really weird.

this time they are not trolling man. don't be suprised if jacqui or frost will be revealed at next week. try to be relax, nevermind jacqui or frost. there is nothing wrong with the roster except them and i am sure at least 1 or 2 super popular characters will be arrive soon.. but there is one real thing that i am really concerned about, looks like frost is the only 3d era character for now.. some 3d era fans will be gone mad which means we are about to see some real twitter wars again..

I want to believe, since that supposedly leaked MK 11 roster leaves me rather dead inside. None of my three bois is in that leaked roster.

I thought the 20 trophies for fatalities was weird until I realized they aren’t the trophies, they are the code for the trophies lol.

So when you do 2 fatalities with a certain character it will check that box. When you do all of them then you get a “perform all fatalities” trophy.

Smoke, Noob Saibot and Rain.

There haven't even been slight teases about Smoke, while Rain and Noob Saibot are probably / maybe seen in some game icon art, but eh... The leaks don't mention them at all. Unless the _RAI thingy is supposed to be Rain and Raiden being labeled as DAR (for Dark Raiden).

How'd you come to that conclusion?

On the achievement page each of those achievements even have their own icons.
That and the other achievements on that list are full fleshed out achievements.

Well, Both Noob and Smoke sat out MKX (well, smoke came back as a variation of Triborg, obviously, but neither here nor there). I think both have a good shot at claiming the remaining two slots, along with Shang Tsung. Rain...ehhh, I'm not so sure about. Of course, he was DLC for MK9, and Boon stated that we'd never pay twice for the same fighter, so that's a plus for him possibly being on the main roster.

Just an assumption, it looks like code not a trophy name. I don’t follow PC leaks so I admittedly don’t know how it works lol. I see ps4 trophies early all of the time. I can’t explain why they each have an icon, but that would be a lazy trophy list.

Also, Which fleshed out trophy didn’t have a checkbox feel to it? Run 5 miles, spear 50 bodies. All of this stuff is on counters in code. I think the fatality ones are tied together.

Same situation here, my all time favourite Ermac and some of my other favourites like Smoke, Mileena or Reptile will not appear on the base roster. Also i love Quan Chi but he can sit out for this game..he always terrorize the story mode.. he is too strong to be a less important character for the story..

For me; Baraka, Kabal, Skarlet, Jade, D'vorah, Erron Black and Kotal Kahn are enough options to buy the game.. Also i fucking love Scorpion, Sub-Zero and Raiden.. which means i should be thankful to NRS for now. in my opinion jacqui and frost are really really absurd choices but i wouldn't mind. okay let's see frost and jacqui..

Most likely there will be 8 extra mk characters in kombat packs, 8 means a lot.. good number to be satisfied with the roster.. i am hoping 4 super popular classic characters and 2 3d era characters at least.. the other 2 could be big suprises like both Chameleon.. male and female..
