What's new

Fortress of Solitude lists Daegon, J. Cage, Reptile, Shang Tsung, Pennywise as most wanted for MK11

I wouldn't mind seeing Daegon or Havik. They're not my favorite characters, but they're someone else's and I think NRS could do them justice in this era.

I feel like a lot of under-represented characters ought to get another chance, like Frost, Ashrah, Li Mei, hell maybe even Hsu Hao (this is EXTREMELY unlikely, but he could be made into a good character). :)

Daegon could work. He could play like Leo Whitefang from Guilty Gear. Taven would also look cool with a black and gold costume. As long as they stay as far away from the Armageddon storyline as possible.

Isn't Red Robin the Error Macro bug though?

I can see Shang and J. Cage being playable. They are originals. I want a cool old man Shang. That mk 9 one sucked honestly.

Daegon will probably be in the story but I don’t think he’s playable in a roster slot kind of way. If he did have a slot I’d be ok with it. Change between Taven and Daegon with skins or whatever. But 25 characters unlikely limit for those kinds of characters.

Pennywise is awesome but he doesn’t fit in Mortal Kombat imo. Pennywise thrives on fear, he’s not strong without it and nobody in MK is scared of him. If you are a participant in MK then you have seen some shit lol. He can eat adults but he’s strongest when harassing kids.

Ash fits. Portals, he’s got a perfect stage in front of the cabin, weapons, quips and kick ass actor that would probably love to voice something like that. Shop smart!

Riiiight.....why wouldn't we want a 10.000 year old half-god warlock who can summon a dragon at will and masters all kind of Edenian arts?
I don't quite care if he's in or out (at least he's not another clown lifted from yet another rotting B-movie series), but if I have to answer that, it's because it's a description of literally any D&D Sorcerer class character, and he does look like such characters are often drawn. At the same time, while it fits, it can fit many other backgrounds and nothing you can see indicates that he's 10000 y.o., or that he's half-god, or whatever else without you having to read his background to learn that. As they say, seeing is believing, and it's just not there when it comes to him.

Granted, his design does strike a nostalgic note for those with a soft spot for Conan-esque Fantasy off-shoots, for what it's worth.

I mean... if the best defense for how cool a character is, is showing some fanfic reinventing the character...

The MK character known as Daegon (not this Kratos thing from the fanfic) is pretty bland. Of course fanfic or retconning in canon lore can make anyone more appealing, but based on what characters currently are, he's not a particularly interesting character.

This argument is valid to say that literally anyone is super cool.

I would be down for Frost and Hsu Hao.

People only want Pennywise due to IT's recent popularity, had that movie never came out he would not even be a thought lol. And this coming from a huge horror fan here, that being said. Myers would be the better choice if they go with another horror guest character. More iconic, as good if not better than Freddy and Jason(easily better than freaking Leatherface)

Shang makes sense, Reptile is a classic and Cage I'm 99% sure will already in the game anyway.

He wasent really that bad, if you think closely.

Esthetic wise:
You had two versions, young and old. Costume was fairly well finished.

Move set:
Very interesting, and unique meta, considering the unbreakable offense and morph option that allow for additional combo free styling, and another layer of meta-offfence.

Voice/SFX:
Really well done, suited him and in any means, it was not annoying.

Compared to Jaqui or Erron, he was very precise work. Considering that MK9 was a first game after long years, they did really good job over there.

You are right, I’m thinking about it in terms of modern visuals. Looking back it looks goofy af. At the time it wasn’t that bad but it wasn’t that great either imo. Old man Shang in unreal4 would be sick tho.

You know, visuals/esthetics is something that everyone could have it different. The argument that he was well design is, the fact, that his moves look really sharp. Movement was also fine. You could look at him, and really enjoy his d3,f4 knee pressure mixed with fireballs. The hew moved when you AA with S1 and the follow up, into morph was really neat.

He was fun to play for sure, I just didn’t like the look. I would like to see a fighting style that would fit an old man better though. More sorcery normals and not brute strength type hits.

Besides, MK already has a killer clown...

haha true.

Hey I just realized something regarding Shang Tsung if he's in the game, they could give him cosmetic stuff to look old MK 1, younger MK 2, MK 9 young, MK Deadly alliance or MK 3 look too.
