Every Netherrealm release following MK9 has had it where the boss is playable. I don't see any reason they'd break form now.

I put her on the confirmed list because she appears on the main menu on the "Kustomize" option. Plus she was seen in the story and there's no way she won't be playable.

The problem isn't the polish. It's a completely different facial structure. Ppl may age, but unless they're in an accident or have tons of reconstructive surgery, they're facial structure doesn't change that drastically:
