Mortal Kombat 11 Early Pre-Order Info

With pre-orders going live for the upcoming release of Mortal Kombat 11, we've got some details on the various versions of the game. As of now, pretty easy to keep track of everything, but there are some things to be on the watch for.

So as a given, you can pre-order whatever version of the game you'd like via Gamestop, Amazon, Best Buy, Steam, wherever. The real reason I threw this up was this reply from WB Games Support on the Amazon posting for the Premium version of the game. Several times they state that this version of the game comes with Mortal Kombat 11 (instead of another Knack 2), the Kombat Pack, and, what hasn't been mentioned much anywhere, a steel-book case for the game. It's possible that's not set in stone, as game companies tend to just say stuff without considering they'll do it, but if steel-books are your thing and you were going to get the DLC, you are in luck.

As for perks for pre-ordering, any version of the game will get you Shao Kahn, Switch and PC included. Where Switch and PC aren't included seems to be with the beta: according to the official WB Press Release, only the Xbone and PS4 versions will have access to the beta in March. AND, it appears you need to pre-order from "select retailers" for beta access, with those retailers not named. While it's possible it's just corporate speak for "not your local mom and pop shop", it might be a good idea to wait and see what happens there. None of the store listings for the game across the web mention any of this (from what I saw), so this looks like info they are sitting on for the time being.

Anyways, we should have that info by January 17. But if something comes earlier, we'll have you covered with those details.

"Mind Over Matter" I dont mind, and X dont matter
I want for Christmas the option to order Kollectors Edition!

On the other hand, if anyone is looking to get KE, then we are fucked with access to beta :(

I just wish there was clarity on all included content and if there will be another edition. I don't think I can bother with the premium. I will never understand why games charge significantly more for things cause it almost adds the full price of the game on for who knows how many characters and historically you still don't get all the released content anyway. I wish companies would get in that habit of being transparent about what is offered so people can make an informed choice. Excessive guests and odd character choices make it easy to preorder the regular edition.

ALL I HAVE IS THE GREEN.
I'm pretty sure the PS4 digital pre-order version said something about including beta access. After I purchased it, the description changed and doesn't say anything about the beta. The premium version still says something about getting beta access.

Can someone that hasn't pre-ordered the regular edition on ps4 check the store description to see if it includes the beta?

Yes, the PSN version is at least clear on the Beta access. So you should be okay

Fujin and Ermac for MK 11
Here's what I'm going to do, preordering the standard for Xbox(as it's one of the consoles to offer the beta and get Shao Kahn earlier for free) then once the beta comes out I'll either switch to the Uber KE or simply get both like I have in the past, I will be getting it on Xbox and Switch. Thankfully I'll start putting money towards it now and comes out nearly a month after my birthday so I'll be good.

I'll wait till I see the KE. Once they announce it, I'll think of what to buy. They need to pass on the beta codes to everyone who pre-orders, not just to the selected few.

According to the Italian Gamestop's website, MK11's Premium Edition contains a Steelbox, 6 characters and a 6 "Battle Pass"
Sounds like each character could come with a Battle Pass. It could be anything, but I'm assuming it's like other games' Battle Passes: a collection of challenges and each one you beat gives you a reward. I'm assuming that you will be able to customize your character's cosmetics in this game, so it would make since that the BP collections are for new gear (or whatever it's called in this game).

Example: Let's say they release Li Mei as a DLC character (just hypothetical), when you buy her you also get the "Deadly Alliance Battle Pass" which comes with a bunch of new challenges to beat so you can unlock even more gear for her AND maybe also select characters in the base roster -- like maybe a Deadly Alliance gear set for Raiden and another character. There could be other rewards in between the bigger stuff, like XP boosters, Easy Fatalities, Koins, and maybe Shaders if they are in this game too.

This is just a big guess, though.

I just wish the DLC would be priced more reasonably as a whole. I remember being mindfucked at the first Kombat Pack being 30 bucks, when the price of the fame was 60. How does it even make since for 4 characters and some skins to be half the price of an entire game?

Fujin!
I noticed that the pre-order section on the website says that you get "guaranteed beta access**", makes me wonder if there will be more ways to get into the beta?

Also I saw on the digital store it says that local players are 1-2 but online players are 2-8. Not that it's a surprise, but I guess that means King of the Hill is back.

This is why I would feel more comfortable not buying it. If people were honest with themselves, most people don't play even half the DLC more than to try them out and you can lab the character with someone else if you feel so inclined.

They charge 30 dollars for 1/5th or 1/6th of the roster because people allow them to do that. If MK11 is anything like the last four games you can expect maybe 50% or less of what people truly asked for plus guests people will "love", but certainly didn't ask for and then random characters nobody asked for but will still defend lol.

The gaming community made a big mistake embracing a pay before you see the product mindset. I only played Martian, Starfire, nobody for real in X's DLC and nobody for real in 9's DLC. I suspect that applies to most of us. What I mean by that is people played one to two of the DLC or none at all yet still almost rebought the game for this stuff.

It’ll be another horror movie “icon” that people are fake attached to and probably don’t even like the movies. I loved Predator in MKX though. Very cool design and really fun

I'd put like a 99% wager on Pennywise. The second part of IT comes out next year, and it's a Warner Bros film.

Thank god Halloween already came out this year, because Michael Myers is like the most boring guest character I could imagine.

I am not really a slasher movie person so these particular guest characters leave me really cold. Alien vs. Predator was at least a cute idea.

They had Freddy in 9, Jason in X, so they have to have Michael in 11. This is simply wishful thinking, but I'd like to see him. I was skeptical at first with what they could do for Jason as far as variations go and they didn't disappoint. I feel they could do the same with Michael.

I'm only going to pre-order the main game, as I know I'm gonna get it anyways.
As for Kombat Packs, I'll wait until we know what's actually in them. I don't care for those horror guest characters, so I'll be avoiding those. No need to pay for something I don't want anyways.

Correct me if am wrong, but as far as i remember they gave the option to buy characters from the kombat pack individually. I remember that from the "press X to Jason" meme and later on i remember some ppl who only bought triborg and such. I don't remember how much each character costed on it's own tho. But i agree with you, I've always been an advocate to not throw money at WB/NRS via preorder cuz that been proven to be not so optimal decision times and times again.

But like... why? I really don't get it. Michael Myers has no character, no personality. He's just 'a Shape'.

I get that people love those movies, but why have him as a character in a game? IDK I guess these guests are just not for me.

Doesn’t that also describe Jason? They made it work.

I think NRS can make anyone work.

I also didn't really think Jason worked, lol. I like Mortal Kombat because the characters are charismatic and fun.

Jason and Leatherface to me were like... Drahmin with an IP license. Why do I care about this personality-free dude who doesn't talk?
