FGC Cannon Fodder
It's not hard to get into. It's very low barrier in that way. Execution is pretty much easy street, as far as fighters go.I've only ever played mkx and I2 as far as fighting games. How does SC6 compare in terms of mechanics and execution? Will it be difficult to pick up?
I'd say it's hard to equate it in any real way to MKX or IJ2. The mechanics are quite different. MKX would probably be the closer of the two. Reasons for that being the game encourages a faster pace and there is far more pronounced guessing meta going on than in IJ2.
That aspect is more layered than the 50/50 style guessing game in MKX. Everything you do kind of has a paper, rock, scissors aspect to it, and you are constantly trying to pick the right answer for what you think your opponent is going to do while trying to keep them from figuring out what you are going to do.
It probably rewards guessing games and disrespect more than most games, and that is something that I could see turning off anyone that thinks MKX is lame for guessing games. I get the impression some people are off put by mashing or whatever, but the more I play it the less I think the game has a traditional sense of turn order. It's a lot more about finding your way through or around attacks, and using your attacks to blow up your opponent's attacks on their turn is a very valid thing.
If you don't need it to play like an NRS game to enjoy it, then it is a fun game. 3D games have a unique quality to them I personally like. If you've never played one, then find at least one to give a go. If you don't like SC6, T7 is killer IMO, and DOA6 will be out in a few months.
