Welcome to the world of tech traps! Think of Ukemi has tech rolling, you can roll left right forward or back and when the opponent ukemis it allows them to avoid certain follow ups. However during this roll animation they cant block so if they ukemi and you catch it you get more damage on the combo aka, a tech trapIf I'm understanding the mechanics right, if you meaty an ukemi, you can extend your combos?
This doesn't work if ukemi is turned off.
Help me understanddddd.
Everyone is ridiculous, but he is even more so. Do you play him? Because I remember you being a Supergirl player, if you know what I mean.No way. Without SC he’s definitely good and probably bottom top, with SC everyone is ridiculous though. But no way he’s god tier.
Thanks for the explanation! I think I was able to grasp the concept of this ok but didn't know the term "tech trap." Very interesting mechanic.Welcome to the world of tech traps! some of them ye, some of them nopeAre they even good players ?Question mark?
What about him is “more ridiculous than everyone else”?Everyone is ridiculous, but he is even more so. Do you play him? Because I remember you being a Supergirl player, if you know what I mean.
The free way in to plus on block 50/50s, but you did ignore the important question there. What about him is “more ridiculous than everyone else”?
The string that ends in either low or mid can be reversal edged. Timing is pretty lenient. You can also sidestep the 1B (that long-range low). If you sidestep it at max range, I believe you should still be getting free pressure unless she does 2A (and 2A sucks).Nightmare players are manageable but my god those Seong Mi-na players were the bane of my existence tonight. 3/4 screen reaching low is like wtf and basic string which ends in mid or low seriously fucked me.
Well, yeah, but that's during soul charge. Doesn't make it not cheap, but it's worth mentioning.
I'm SS 1B but since any player with a brain will not throw this from close range, you pretty much get nothing after she whiffs it at full range. No you dont get free pressure after it, unless you're playing a character with decent range tools. It's annoying and seems not a well designed move but maybe im missing something here. The string that ends in either low or mid can be reversal edged. Timing is pretty lenient. Though you didn't mention it, I know a lot of people are struggling against her low breaker (2A+B). People are trying to low block this, but they NEED to jump it. I know in the mirror Mina gets a auto-jump punish on her 8B, but even if your character's jump attack won't reach, a raw jump evasion should get you a free throw/mid mix-up opportunity AT LEAST.
All this said, this is not my way of saying she isn't good. She's easily in the top 10 conversation. It's her Oki that makes her ridiculous, IMO. When all is said and done though, I think this game's balance is gonna be fine. They made every character hella dumb, but they included universal defensive mechanics that are also hella dumb. It's a really progressive way to balance a fighting game... if it works.
When she goes into SC your best bet is to either start praying or do CE when she goes crazy (which is often the case).
PC version is the best, no suprise here. Most people play on PC overall for that reason alone. If you're worried about not having people to play - don't be. On PC i can't go into standby in training coz after doing that i cant do training for longer then few seconds usually - another mtach pops.Where's everyone playing SC6? Keen to get into it, just don't know whether to get it for console or PC lol
If you get it on PC, I’m on pretty consistently and always down for sets and testing things out.Where's everyone playing SC6? Keen to get into it, just don't know whether to get it for console or PC lol
I’d love to get in a set with you if you’re down. So far I’ve only been able to play randoms, so I feel like I haven’t had a chance to really learn any of the matchups. I’ve got the basic system down so I play every character at least a bit, though I’ve spent the most time learning Siegfried, Astaroth, and Raphael.I'm SS 1B but since any player with a brain will not throw this from close range, you pretty much get nothing after she whiffs it at full range. I didn't mention 2A+B coz after been rekt like dozen of times by it i just went into training and figured that i can jump over it. It's hella annoying thou, coz most characters can't punish (wont reach) that which imo is again a bad design. Such a strong moves should be gaur. punish on whiff. Feels kinda cheap but again maybe im missing something here. We're all learning.

For all the strugling (in that MU) Cervantes players:
I found that going into Dread Storm is a decent option vs any of her long reaching moves - if you have some space behind you. It (tornado) will beat almost anything including CE since its inv after few frames on start up. However it only works if you have some space behind you or at wall (low option of wall leathal hits if your oponnent tries to SS it) . Otherwise you can ring out yourself which is hella funny thou.

Did you test it? Cause I can punish with 66B into full combo with Mitsurugi, and that's with side step on reaction outside of max range. What character are you using?I'm SS 1B but since any player with a brain will not throw this from close range, you pretty much get nothing after she whiffs it at full range. How do you get out Voldo's weird pose charge by the way? Does side stepping work?
I've known of Aris for awhile but this game has got me following him a lot more. He's absolutely hilarious, and his laugh is infectious.
Real talk if Voldo were an actually thing in real life, he'd be the most horrifying thing on the planet.
Not a clue, haven't really labbed Voldo yet.How do you get out Voldo's weird pose charge by the way? Does side stepping work?
PC here, and I brought my entourage of casuals into the fold to boot.Where's everyone playing SC6? Keen to get into it, just don't know whether to get it for console or PC lol
If you ever want games, just add karaokelove on Steam.PC here, and I brought my entourage of casuals into the fold to boot.
You can sidestep, but he shoots so far that it can be difficult to punish, and sometimes it seems to catch sidestep. I believe guard-impact is a good option. How do you get out Voldo's weird pose charge by the way? Does side stepping work?
