Soul Calibur 6: THE SOUL STILL BURNS!

Like I said, you can make any claim you want, you just can’t really justify it based on a network test beta. He could definitely turn out to be top tier, but we won’t know that for awhile. To me, he just seems easier to use. Which means in a network test beta where there’s no training mode, he’s gonna seem perhaps better than he actually is. Point is we can’t know for certain yet.
All im saying is HE BETTA NOT BE THIS OP IN THE FINAL VERSION. And yes ive sent that feedback as well ;)

Now....I eat pudding. Good day, sir.

Low hitting moves and guard crush attacks will be your best friends in the Nightmare match up, especially against his Armored Explosion.
I found out that move is called REVENGE. So can he only do that move once or multiple throughout the match ?Question mark?

If you mean his old A+B he can use it all he likes. Unless they have modified it to only work using either Soul Charge or Terror Charge. But its still has multiple options to get around it.

I played ALL characters in the beta and TRUST when I say

NIGHTMARE.IS.FUCKING.OP

Aint no way to justify how over powered his whole moveset is above the rest, its stupid. Even using Nightmare i did not have fun mauling ppl with 2-3 moves and they're dead. He needs to be toned da fuck down or people will riot like Smashers do with Bayonetta. Yup its already happening.
He is not. There are many characters on Nightmare level in game atm. He just seems op coz its hard to react or punish many things he does with online delay and crappy console input delay (this is non issue on PC on which probably everybody gonna play just like Tekken 7). It's a whole different story offline.

Also you should really stop with the "0f armored super". Several charater have it, better yet some have complete inv. on startup.

Just pick a pressure character like Talim and mop him up easy up close. Once you learn the MU that is.

Played this game a ton offline at office and its way easier to deal with him once you understand his moves frame data, gaps and other shortcomings (which he has).

Don't make tier asumptions on online (especially in SC VI and a console version), let alone beta.

Nightmare is not OP. At all. You’re just not used to fighting him and dealing with him. He’s a great space eater with good 8wr attacks and range. And his wakeup game can be brutal. But up close he can be bullied if you know what to look out for. And pixie characters like Taki, Sophie, X, and Talim (and apparently Groh too) can make his life hell up close with quick As. Quick tip, NM’s auto GI moves crush Bs and kicks. But not As.

If you guys think NM is OP, wait until you run some sets vs a good Astaroth. His up close game is usually better than NM.

Anyways....

So the Reversal Edge mechanic, do you feel it should use some meter so people wont abuse it or is that mechanic fine the way it is?

Having it use 1/3 or half a meter would be nice, actually, to avoid that exact problem. I fought off a few people who only pressed the RE button and nothing more, and though I eventually learned that I can just sidestep to avoid it and then punish them, then yeah, it would be cool if it was tied to the meter system.

What a great weekend. I didn't run into much character variety but I heard from different people that they got a lot matches against characters that I barely saw (Maxi, Mitsu, Xianghua); by far saw more Talims than anything, followed by Geralt then Nightmare in that order.

I'm so eager to learn these matchups; need training partners for sure.

I played against just about every character. The characters I saw the least was Mitsu, Voldo, and Yoshi.

Man, I fought against so many Yoshis. I'd order my character encounters as such (I played Tira the whole time):

Rare: Maxi, Mitsu, Xianghua, Tira
Less common: Voldo, Taki, Killik, Ivy, Zas
Common: Groh, Sophitia, Siegfried, Yoshimitsu
Very common: Talim, Geralt, Nightmare

... i feel like i'm forgetting someone

Im starting to think that too then again there are ways to just opt out of the clash during animation by either blocking or sidestepping. The side step still is a risk, so i just block the first clash. BUT if you block the second clash, they will guard break you.

I kinda dont like how Soul Charge uses a full bar of meter. Kinda expensive when I can just use a super to get guaranteed damage.

Glad I'm not the only one who felt the absence of certain characters being played. I actually managed to not come across a single Kilik the whole time i played.

REALLY!? He was out there doing his thang. Not as common as most characters but there were some pretty good ones. And since a lot of his attacks are lows, with the shitty lag it was HARD to react lol

MAAAAAN i need to upload my footage ASAP! So many good and funny moments! I had an Ivy tea bag me and all i noticed was her titties jumping up and down UP and down UP AND DOWN! I mean, fish aint on Uncle JBeezY's menu but I appreciate thigh and BREASTS!

I might actually haven't played vs Voldo during this beta. I tried him once, but he looked too weird to me visually to give him a chance.

Oh Stop! If you like Prince then you will like Voldo. PURPLE RAIN w/ a sprinkle of S&M ;)

BTW i realized why people have started to spam the RE button. That move builds your super meter the fasted upon a successful hit. Then as soon as you get close, BAM Super in your face. I remember an annoying ass Ivy was doing that shit and her Super is armored as well.

I would think it obvious but jumping to giant conclusions about tiers, matchups, and nerf/buff bemoaning before the game is even out is the scrubbiest of scrublord scrubbiness in all the kingdom of scruboria.

But I forget this is TYM after all, where snap judgments and anecdotal experience are passed off as irrefutable fact.

Guys, RE isn’t that big a deal. You’re just not used to the mechanics and playing a lot of SoulCalibur. Unless you’re constantly attacking you’ll notice it and step it the more you see it. There’s a very distinctive white flash and drawback that every character does and you’ll get the rhythm of it eventually.

I faced every character at the beta. Only 1 mitsu and only 1 maxi though. Saw Taki and Groh the most

LoL Nightmare op, TYM doesn't dissapoint.

Nightmare is CRAP, any stance enter is GUARANTEED reversal edge punish, guaranteed. It's a free Critical Edge as well. FREE. he can't sidestep or block so basically you just end up not using any stance, which is mainly 90% of his moveset.

He's the same old op as Captain cold was, or A-list. Or any other decent character that got nerfed because people forgot there's a training mode.

Meanwhile characters like SOPHITIA MOTHERFKN 236B INSTANT SAFE HALF LIFE PUNISH that can punish ANYTHING YOU DO and basically is the most op crap since soul 3 and STILL WAS in the beta, went unnoticed.

And boy oh boy you haven't seen Cervantes yet, get ready for selling your game fast.

This was already said, lets not get back to scrubby notions about Nightmare.

As for Sophitia, well thats coz nobody cares about her and those who do thinks she's hot so that's that. Joking a side it's prabably here to stay like you noticed she has that since SC3. Thank God there are ways around it... well.. sorta. ;)
