If you want to know why the scene sucks, look to the testers and all the divisive shit that got them where they are (not going to mention any names but theres a reason why catwoman is #1 and Raiden is bottom tier). Look to the loudmouths that convince you they are some leader of the community, look to the elitist apologists that write long, endless blogposts about the discrepancies in the fighting game community as their only claim to fame. It's cliques, it's people generally being pieces of shit, its people with a political slant in the community. The "old school" elitists did nothing different than the new school ones...you go against their little "flock" which is more or less an circle jerk, you get ostracized, because people like you are stupid enough to follow every word they say and idea they have. That's why this community sucks.

Yeah, as someone who's been part of all this since 2011, gone to shows and seen the people, and gave up for literally these exact reasons, i fully cosign this. The NRS scene turned into a fucking wrestling locker room in all the wrong ways.

You forgot people who haven't contributed to or supported the scene in 5 years, but come back to cry about the people who have.

This is so out of touch that it's painful to read for anyone who's actually been involved. It's honestly better to just stay away than to come back and try to cut people down who are still, at the very least, putting their effort into the scene.

I don't think Injustice 2 sucks but I think it's missing a wow factor. The way the game is played gets to be boring and exhausting at times. Like it doesn't have like an x factor like umvc3 had that would bring out some clutch moments or the fast hype mix up play style that MKX had. Basically what they were saying on Reo's podcast I absolutely agree with. You basically can just pick a character like super girl and back up and shimmy all day and check with lasers. Don't get me wrong zone based characters are necessary in fighting games, but the way it is here just isn't as fun to watch or play against. Injustice 2 is a pretty balanced fighting game, some cool and creative characters, and it looks really good as far as stages etc. just not as exciting.

I came back to speak my mind whether you like to hear it or not. I used to release tech videos, publish complete combo guides and help people out with little to no respect given so don't you for a second talk to me like I've never put effort into this scene.

I didn't say 'never'. But it's been half a decade since you contributed anything other than showing up once a year to talk people down who are actively participating. If you don't have anything constructive to say, it's probably not worth saying anything at this point.

I like playing the game but it doesn’t appear NRS has much of a community at all. More like a mob of cry babies and assholes. I’ve played a lot of games but I’ve never seen so much bitching (not just about Injustice 2, but MKX as well) and so much toxic behavior while even playing the games. I can’t play for even a couple matches without someone tbagging or shouting obscenities over the mic or bitching about my character. Losing shouldn’t result in messages of “git gud scrub” or chastising. No sportsmanship at all. So much negativity

It’s the same on TYM. Barely ever see anyone trying to help anyone anymore. Just whining, insults and poor sportsmanship.

No matter how good the next MK is I guarantee it’ll be the same. Because the “community” sucks.

It’s just too bad I actually enjoy this fighting game more than all the rest

I can't say the community is full of crybabies. Anyone who is passionate about something will have issues about things they feel are wrong. That actually goes on in a lot of fighting game communities. Look at MVCI that game got so much backlash that people refused to play it. It had low sales and didn't even get a slot at evo. MVC has tons of fans and people that play the game. UMVC3 was popular at fg tournaments but a lot of people had issues. There is toxic behavior sometimes though but some is for competition. A lot of people like to pop off.

I'm glad it was made because it has a lot of people telling on themselves that probably didn't intend on telling on themselves.

The game isn't for everyone, but that's not the real issue because people have problems with X. 9 and the first Injustice and dropped them for the shiny new toy. Nobody will admit that they are fair weather fans, get bored extremely easily whether the game is pressure based, neutral based or zoning based, it makes no difference.

You will also see these people complain about DBFZ, Cross Tag, SFV and any other game, there's always an excuse, it's never just simply: oh well, it's me that just doesn't vibe with the game, it's because the game doesn't have true worth.

but we are talking about main-games. if someone "doesn't vibe with the game" there must be reasons for that.
although i know exactly what you mean, the word "excuse" sounds exaggerated in that context.

Well as you know, that isn't the point. I don't like MKX, but I'm not going to pretend like the game doesn't have merit or isn't worth playing because I PERSONALLY don't like it. You're welcome to feel it's "exaggerated" I hold myself to the same standards as everyone else so.

I mean sometimes it just ends up being because of preferences. I don't like SF or GG or dbfz but I know it's because I don't vibe with them. It doesn't mean they are bad or something is truly wrong with them

sure i agree with you. some players just dont vibe with a game while others have specific reasons.

There is true though, that TYM its like a cage fight all the time, it looks like people are attacking each other with every post which makes easier to miss interpret and then people start attacking each other for real.
That's something this forum also needs to look at, or it will keep pushing members away tho.

I mean I don't like them for specific reasons but at some point you have to realize that somethings are so ingrained in a game(how the developer decided to make the game focus on) that they will never be changed and If you don't like them complaining will lead nowhere you just have to cross that game out and move on. I hated the crazy offense in dbfz but I knew that was what the developer created the game around so I moved on, didn't complain just moved on.

To conclude I think that complaining against certain aspect of a game is pointless because they are based around them.
