SSGSS (SS Blue) Vegeta General Discussion

SWonder916

When's DragonBall?
These are my solo combos so far with Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta. Notations are included as always, no assists to leave room for experiments with your own personal teams and the Super Meter is at 1 to show meter gain/usage. Hope this helps anyone who's been looking for more combos with notations, etc or maybe helps spark an idea for something new. Honestly I think I may like Vegeta Blue a bit better in this game out of the two Princes

SSGSS Vegeta is imo this game's only truly bad character. SS Vegeta is basically only taken for the assist, now imagine a character who was just like him except instead of the best assist in the game, he has potentially the shittest assist in the game, and all his specials are just worse than Vegetas, and ridiculously meter hungry. This is SSGSS Vegeta. At least he has a 5 bar super I guess.
It's their way of saying anything past M vegeta and dragon ball super in general is trash lol

His assist is actually quite useful. You just have to be able to think a little and experiment.

+ It’s got tons of active frames.
+ stops beams and clashes
+ you can mash it on block because vegeta appears in the air, not on the ground like most of the other assists and get stuffed/hit
+ it’s got tons of block stun
+ if you can step away from your flowcharts for a second, you can find a way to combo it.
+ really good to cover you on left/right mixups if you call it at the right time. You can call it and then teleport/vanish/whatever to the other side of the screen. While/if your move is blocked, vegeta will be off screen, charging the fireball and if your opponent attacks in reprisal, they’ll get tagged from the BBA out of nowhere.

- it’s slow to come out and use as a straight projectile
- it fires at a 45 degrees angle everytime.

So I’ve been working on 236LLL 236M mixups using Gotenks/Yamcha assist, and there are freaking loads. All the usual suspects; dash/no dash 0, 1 or 2 jL. Maybe some falling empty jH feints or jS thrown in for good measure.

Just started looking at 236LH side switch in the corner, seems pretty strong with these assists, but shame it doesn’t recover airborne. Anyone done anything with this? @xQUANTUMx You still rock a little blue don’t you? Got any tech or is it not worth the bar?

Imo not worth the bar. He needs it for so much else. If you’re going to burn bar with him do a vanish cancel instead. The 236LH still keeps you airborne and I’ve been 2H’d. Occasionally I guess it’s not bad if your opponent is on autopilot but I don’t tend towards it. His regular rekka pressure is already great (far better than SSJ)

And ya @BurdaA i play triple blue as a team, forgot to mention
Nice... I really wanted to use Bloku but I was building a team specifically for reducing Blugeta’s meter dependency, and he just didn’t quite fit, real shame as I love a meam-teme

Currently working on a ToD with Vegeta (seriously doubt there’ll be one starting with Yamcha/Gotenks, but they’re good for DHC shenanis). It’s gonna be expensive but that’s part of my game plan. Meterbuild into flash damage. Once you curb Blugetas meter spend, this team builds ridiculous meter.

I put vegito in front. He's my point and my battery at the same time. Works pretty well. Blue Goku ends up being my anchor half the time for some reason but it's worked out well so far. With this team I switch often. If you don't like that dynamic, then it's probably not for you.

Yeah my Blugeta loadout is all about the constant-switching (meter-build/conservation mode) and change back to Blugeta to pump out some damage (Prince/Beast mode). The other 2 can get decent dami with well placed assists, but not as much as Blugeta can with them assisting him.

I’ve been having a much easier time than with my Nappa loadout tbh.

First ToD with Blugeta loadout:

It’s actually hella practical even online, if you can score a corner 2M starter. Can start with only 3 bars but costs sparking.

Gonna work on midscreen/swag tomorrow, but bed now.
