I'm not sure if there was a recent patch or whatnot but it's common in gaming for them to shut down online services to do maintenance. MMO's do it all the time. I'm not well versed in networking and the like but they are probably just fixing and updating stuff. It doesn't mean they are doing some major update, it could be minor.
Pretty much the same experience i had at my first local. I dropped combos that would have made me win sets, both matches i lost were down to the last character and like a pixel left.I actually got to round 4.
1st person didn't show up, so that was a pass. 2nd round, he won the first round, i won the second and the LAST match ended in both of us having the last character with nearly a pixel of life EACH and he beat me with a vanish attack. It was THAT FUCKING CLOSE! Ugh...so was sent to losers.
3rd round, i murdered my opponent 2-0 only losing 1 character the second round, damn near flawless the first.
4th round....almost the same scenario as the 2nd round. He beat me, i beat him, then final match was down to the last character.
All in all, i NEVER got mopped. My losses were super close. Shit, i did record them so ill end up showing you guys soon. But looking back at my matches, the nerves really got the best of me. If i kept them in check, i would have made it much further.
For my very first online tourney, I'm glad i finally competed to get those butterflies out the way to see where i stand in an online tourney. NOW I know I can most def hang and with a team NOBODY uses. I will continue to see this over and over because thats really a big accomplishment for me. Taking characters who are not popular and making them a steller team. Uncle JBeezY will continue to practice! So if anybody wants some fun ass matches, I will be online later today after 3pm PST.
