Yeah I figured it was coming. I just picked him up too, lol.

Actually not mad at all though. I feel like this is just plain good for the game, though I'm sorry to the guys running Nappa and such that really needed this assist to make him work his best..that shit sucks.. but maybe the takeaway will be that some of his flaws become more apparent and he gets some love at some point in the future. I dunno.

This gives me food for thought though. I actually like how Vegeta plays, and the assist still looks like it'll be useful. So do I keep him? Or run Kid? (Who is one of my day one mains and absolute favorite characters in the game) or do I try out Broly? - can't play BardyBard he's called by my buddy.

Yeah judging by the duration, I'm.not sure this effects me that much.. in the case of my TG bomb loops the timing is actually already kinda tight.. and the pickup there isn't about how long it locks them down, mostly just catching them at the right angle.. I'll have to change the call timing but I don't think it'll stop it from working.

Hit assist useage is still fine as well, with him, again, it's not so much duration, it's just catching them at the right height. I can get a 5M out really faster after my opener, I just need them held in place a few extra frames to make sure it hits. So again, probably doesn't matter much here.

Where I'll see an effect is in raw neutral and blockstring use of course. The huge duration gives me so much time to mix and do TGohan shit lol.

This may be the excuse I need to go to Kid Buy and run team ''I can't land these combos"

Tbh, I like the way ss Vegeta plays anyway. He’s got some fun layers, and I doubt his assist will be completely trash. Despite everyone having loads of mu familiarity he still has ludicrous comeback factor somehow. A lot of people I’ve played don’t seem to have invested time learning him, presumably including him for his assist only....

At least those guys will get of the Vegeta train .

I’ve been thinking about getting some Krillin. TGohan, Yamcha, Tien and Ginyu are candidates too. Vegeta will always be in the Team... we’ll see if it’s ss/ssb.

lol, I was going to but then I got good at your Saibamen setup. I adjusted to his neutral with his slow mediums by learning to put out my hitboxes pre-emptively. But yeah, without the easy Saibamen I get from that 1000+ frame blockstun assist I won't know what to do with Nappa. Then again maybe he'll get buffed.

Krillin after image shenanigans are fun. Also the small hurtbox helps deal with the now tidal wave of Adult Gohan pressure online.

As a SSGSS Vegeta point main I'm ok with the SS Vegeta assist nerf lol. They should take some of that Vegeta assist power they took away from SS Vegeta and give it to my SSGSS Vegeta.

On a serious note though, when I think of Yipes’ commentary what comes to mind is hilarity, from the references to his interactions with the players and so on. I don’t even recall any “oh x20” moments whether or not he actually does it often; it just doesn’t stick with me if so. He’s also got a very distinctly NYC vibe and I’m from there so maybe there’s that bias too, idk.

Either way there’s plenty of good commentary for this game no matter what’s your flavor so cheers to that!

Has anyone else ran into the "I know I was blocking but I didn't block" issue that was a thing a while back

I swear it just happened to me in a match. When it happened I made a note of the time, went back to the replay and put the controls on.

I'm getting hit, I'm holding 3 and H so I'll tech and get up blocking low.

Somewhere between the 3 and 4 second mark the game is like "you're actually now rappidly going from down, down back, back, repeatedly and pressing Special and Heavy" like the control reading is just spazzing. And I get hit on wakeup when on my controller I'm just calmly holding down back (may or may not have released heavy at that point but I was holding it from the tech not pressing it anytime thereafter)

You’re bang on about pre-empting/spacing with his normals, they’re slow but have decent range. It’s amazing how often I go for a setup and 5M catches them walking backwards....

Yeah I’m hoping he’ll get more armour or dami, armoured saiba from 236H? All of the above?

If you had gotten rid of the right button column, I would see clearly what's going on. I could barely see that you stood up, and at the same time this A.Gohan dude did a 2M on you. Maybe there's an input lag there not registering you as blocking. Same shit happened to me.

Anyone theory crafting Broly synergy yet? I know we don’t have much to go on, but that K&M thing about DHC into Vegeta before Broly’s lvl1 hits... that’s got me wanting to lab.

Seems to me that they reduced the amount of fireballs to 8 in Vegeta's case. I'm a bit confused.

As for Broly, he might be a huge addition to the new team I plan to try once he's out. I believe that he might need A18 or any similar char to prevent the escape from air. He might be a comebacker, regarding his armor. We'll have to test if this armor prevents SD and Vanish. We have yet to see if it prevents DR.

Hopefully so! Haven’t actually said I’m dropping him yet, and we’re not even sure Vegeta’s trait got nerfed apparently.

Just saiyan IF he’s nerfed by association and there’s no compensation (or he just no longer has what I’m looking for), I’ll probably invest my time elsewhere.

Anyways I never truly drop anyone, no matter the butthurt, just might start maining someone else.

I'm trying to avoid Vegeta and all the spiky haired motherfuckers like him but if I were to make an exception it'd be for him bc of that assist and how prominent it seems to be in just about everything I'm seeing. Right now just trying to get a feel for what's out there though so appreciate the insight into Nappa!
