Also got bumped down from pink to red I'm having so much more fun, but I feel like there should be another level between Pink and red as I'm a little too good for most reds but not good enough to hang with most pinks.
I lost my pink as well. But that was largely due to me playing yellow bars or worse. I just didn’t connect the dots at first. Kept getting 5 frames of delay minimum and was losing because of it. Then I started only playing green bars or better, and the experience has been infinitely better. It kinda sucks though because there’s rarely a green bar in ranked. So I’ve been playing mostly ring matches with good players. I’ve leveled up so much more playing legit long sets against good players than I ever did playing ranked matches.

Piecing some new things together. Would love to get bopped again a little more some time when you're free.

I thought the patch was just for match making? Where did they mention character balancing too? I mean that's cool. I wouldn't mind seeing who they tweek and how. But I thought this dev only patched late in the life cycle.
The patch drops near the end of February, or earlier the March. About character balancing, they have seen some glitches, like Krillin's senzu glitch, or Cell's reverse zoning. They need to patch them. And this patch is usually followed with the DLC chars.

In what situations are you able to do LML 214.L? Ive tried swapping it in as an ender for just about every single combo I do, that normally ends in LMS-214.M and unless Im missing something, I can *never* get it to connect. It's sort of weird.

LMS-214.M is completely consistent for me in every scenario that Ive found and used, outside the ender to the assist combo I was talking about..and I actually changed that combo around some and am able to use it now.. I optimized some of the first jump sequences, like doing j.MLL to start the air stuff, and so on.. then after the assist call, I just SD into a simple LMS-214.M instead of trying to do two air sequences here.. the second sequence was the bastard that always dropped. I net about 4835 here meterless, with the knee carrying them back to the ground and letting me spend more meter here if I want.. I can probably optimize this a little further - Id like to get that 5k number, but this is dead easy and consistent and 1-3% isnt worth dropping the combo for IMO.

I appreciate your advice man, please dont think Im ungrateful, just trying to understand the nuances. You also mention always doing 214.L in the air.. does L have different KD properties to M or is it just consistency?
I use LML as an ender. LML~214L. I find the input for a light attack hits air opponents better then medium attack. I sacrifice damage for Consistency. I also buffer the input in between LM(buffer214)L. I'm on hitbox so maybe it's a bit harder on pad. But by buffering it comes out more often then not.

Now... I DO use LMS too but I do Connoisseur Cut as well since she jumps closer to the opponent which is just as good at least for me. I figure I'm not getting a true hard knockdown anyway so I might as well steal a move or use what I stole to get more damage then getting the corner anyways.

I think this is why she doesn't have a true knd because she would be OP if this were true.

Also...

They say light attacks have better consistently over medium & heavy attacks.

I also find once I reach 4000+ scaling becomes a factor too. So I usually end it off after the assist attack.

It's all so very confusing.

Gotcha. That's interesting, because I use exclusively the LMS-qcb.M ender (input as LLS-qcb.M) and it's completely consistent, the single exception being using it to finish the assist combo I listed earlier, and now I've figured out how to get it to work there as well, 10 outa 10, and I actually practice in 3 frames of delay, adjusted in the settings to mimic online conditions

Long time no talk guys.

Heres my team first off. Mind you this is just my git gud team, will be completely changed in about a week or two...depending on if I earn enough for Vegeta Blue.....

Anywho....Tien/Trucks, Goku, Goku Black.

Will being switching in my true main(but I'm still labbing), Mystic Gohan/Teen Gohan, Vegeta Blue, and Black.

Just looking for pointers and good combos with Tien and Mystic Gohan, mainly Gohans preferred block strings. I prefer a nice reference page for this time of shiznit....

Also please use: Light, Medium, Hard, Ki. Makes it much easier for me to understand, as well has Mahvel/SF speak: Like quarter circle forward/back etc

So, I figured out you can guard cancel even if you only have one character left. Not sure if this was known or not. Your character basically doe a vanish attack but the benefit of guard canceling is getting out of true block strings, while with vanish you can’t do it while in block stun.

Really curious to know if this was known or not. I don’t remember ever seeing it done with a solo character.

Yeah it’s been mentioned (somewhere on page 9001 of this thread), can’t hurt to remind people though! :)

hey guise,

any hype pool matches so far?
it was too late in germany i went sleep lol.
I didn’t catch any matches either, hung out with the squad tonight and we saw Black Panther. But, I do know at least 3 NRS players made top 32. BeyondToxin, Theo, and of course SonicFox.

Dammit, thought I found something. Ah well, I definitely wasn’t aware of it, should come in handy!

Pointers I have for Tien:
His LL is great for hit confirming. The second L hits twice. qcfL goes under projectiles, hits low, and covers good range while qcfM has armor. If you have a character with a good assist or spend a bar on vanish you can combo off them after the last hit. 2L hits low so you can mix some people up with some IAD corner shenanigans with the cover of an assist. qcbS is a great oki tool. Has high block stun and hit stun so either way you are keeping up the pressure especially in the corner, but after 2 uses it always fails the third time. Tri-Beam takes some of your health when you use it even when you DHC into it so I tend to not use it unless its to kill. Same with Neo Tri-Beam but that one you hold R2 down and do massive unscaled damage at the cost of health you can't recover. Once you use your Chiotzu Level 3 you can not use it again along with qcbS for the rest of the game.

My go to bnb with him is:
2M,M,j.M,2H,SD,M,L(2),2H,j.L(2),L,2H,qcfM

That hits for over 4k damage and qcfM in the air is a HKD. You can also spend a bar for Tri-Beam to hit for over 5K at the end also but I tend to keep my meter and health and use the HDK to set up more pressure unless I know it will kill.

Just saw the video of Chris G 3-0ing Tatsu in GFs at DragonBrawl and my goodness, he is an absolute monster at this game

He's one of the very few players I've seen who I reckon could take out Fox in tourney
Lul damn just as I say this Chris G gives Fox that swift 2-0 to make it into Top 8 Winners, this man is OD

Don't think Fox'll be bad-mouthing Vegeta again seeing as he couldn't once put down Chris G's lul

Man, as someone who’s always hated Dragonball Z, I’ve gotta be honest...

This game still looks dope af regardless. Really can’t even hate on it at all and might even just have to get it.

Had fun playing #DragonBallFighterZ with a buddy, who along with his twin brother, is the only one playing anime FGs around Thessaloniki. Had a good training, and did some good setups. Almost mastered the defense. Need time to work the rest.

To be frank, I started liking even more Beerus and Hit, and I have some things I want to try out. Off to lab. Hit is a bit hard, but once you master his defense, you'll play a mind game there.

Hit's defense is absolutely one of the main reasons I play him.

Try him against Kid Buu. Buu will have a hard time against him. But once someone knows your weaknesses, they're bound to cancel Hit's 236S with a light attack or so. You need a good defense and VERY good reactions to deal against him.

There's something funny and kind of sad about running INTO a Piccolo orb just to counter it, a favorite pastime of mine vs piccolo's I face. I don't abuse it, but it has yet to fail me lol.

Does anyone know the startup frames on Hit's 2L vs the universal OHs everyone has?
