Terrible times breed terrible things, my lord.
I really dont want to use Goku Black or Goku cause they boring but beam assist opens up so much combo potential.
I use Black as anchors on half of my teams . Beam characters like you said can br boring but I think it's kinda good to have them.

I'm forced to have A.Gohan or another Saiyan on point. Tien just can't get it done.

I actually love playing as black I think he is very fun to play.
Same, he’s super fun, that’s why I’ve used him since launch. Actually, used my exact team since launch (A.Gohan, Veg, Blk). I need an alt team tho, I want a Hit, SSB Vegeta and Blk team

He is the only person that has been on all my teams and they change daily.

Goku may be a bit boring but DAAAAMN he does damage for his basic combos! Once u try other ppl, you will realize how much work you have to do just to get a proper BnB.

Goku Black is on another level. He has the damage, if not more in combos compared to regular Goku, but you will come to realize how important hard knockdowns are. Black's special attacks do natural hard knockdowns that can build up meter for your team and set up for some nasty mind fuckery.

Yellow LOOKS like orange in game and Orange looks for red. Ive been bumped to yellow cuz i stopped caring about TRYING to win every match. Instead, i just try to learn by trying new things. Less stress, more fun, and carefree ;)

BUUUUUUT now that im winning again, its harder to even get back into that orange spot. Whateva, im having fun with my new team!

Love this game I Am getting so much better at it and can see my progress. Shout outs to people in your friends list that would always give you games when they were able to pub stomp you but wont respond anymore when them tables are flipped.

I HAVENT!! HOLY SHIT I FORGOT haha! I guess im just really working on being comfortable using his neutral and combos. Cuz at times, I drop em but getting better at that. I totally forgot he can use the Ghost Super as pressure just like Picollo uses his shooting star bomb special thingy.

New version. Different ToD combo with my team. Requires lvl 1 Gohan, lvl 1 sparking, 5 bars and assists. I need to get better with the machine gun kick loops with A.Gohan but I at least did it once for this combo.

I'm finding I actually prefer SS Goku to Black. Black's 2H is nice though.
Honestly they can kinda be interchangeable utility wise (same assist, etc). But personally I like Black’s neutral more (dive kick mainly) and yeah, that 2H is crazy good.

Kinda open ended question, but what combos should I be working on if I was *cough* cooking up an AGohan ? Practical solo or single assist stuff? Anything out the ordinary ?

And any insight, like an example possibly, of how you construct your blockstrings?

I think Goku has a much stronger nuetral, with air kame, and things like iad j.S 236S being good ways of punishing neutral without even commiting, and then his 236H just owning in the neutral from anywhere, and the fact that he gets HKD's off a vanish gives him more momentum off these touches

Black is an excellent character, I'm just preferring Goku for my team though, I already have plenty of pressure options with Beerus and K.Buu, and that K.Buu assist gives everyone a mix-up anyway so I don't need Black's mix tools as much

Hey guys, like serious question, what are you doing and how are you opening people who are jumping like all the time and playing passive? Overall, whats the gameplan against always jumping players? Sometimes i am doing Ki Charge to make them more aggresive but this is more for trollz and it is not a gameplan.

My team is Kid Buu / Vegita / Cell.
People will start to become predictable with their dashing and various air options. What I tend to do is make sure they have no more dash\double jump left and try to lock them down with Ki blast\beam when they are about to land and vanish to put pressure on them. Usually call assist immediately use a S and then vanish to pressure from both sides and if the ki blast hits you get a free combo if they block you are at plus frames.

Not fool proof by any means as they can always air dash when coming down but it will make them think twice about trying to bait or wait for you to walk in range of a jump back air dash heavy.

I thought the patch was just for match making? Where did they mention character balancing too? I mean that's cool. I wouldn't mind seeing who they tweek and how. But I thought this dev only patched late in the life cycle.

It's all so very confusing.
My understanding is they are just addressing matchmaking.

arcsys and anime fighters in general are USUALLY very slow to patch and it's a huge deal when they do, they tend to run loc tests at events and during specific times and kind of demo a lot of the changes, and then iterate on those changes before they they implement them. Of course DBFz could he handled totally differently, but Arcsys have a history of doing things a particular way.

As for balance, I dunno. I have the fortunate/unfortunate position of playing and enjoying almost exclusively top tier characters, so my interests are not served by nerfs.. but that said, I genuinely don't think nerfs are what's needed (though I'd like to see 16 touched very slightly).. but more just some small buffs to some characters to give you a reason to run them over the normal Cell/Black/16/Etc.

I have no idea exactly what and I think it's too early for a lot of characters to be messed with at all.

Additionally dlc characters in a team game can act as roster-wide balance options in themselves in some cases, assists or mechanics allowing new teams to flourish and old, powerful teams to perhaps have a strong counter strategy, yadda yadda.

I want more stages to fight on and more cinematic finishes.. that would be dope.

To add on to the Goku talk, he is so vital for my team, I don't really need to practice much with him as everything he does is pretty simple and solid and his assist does everything, I honestly can't imagine playing without him and I have no interest in Goku Black.

Also got bumped down from pink to red I'm having so much more fun, but I feel like there should be another level between Pink and red as I'm a little too good for most reds but not good enough to hang with most pinks.

You should use LML 214L instead. It's more constant that way. You can use lms too but most of her air moves should end in the light version.
What I do after the j.LML 214L the game reads it a little bit better I suppose. I know I have trouble with this bnb too. LMM should work too but I always cut it off at LMto buffer the inputs if L does not come out.
Also you can 214S or 236S vanish and do either the reverse 214S or 236S instead. You don't get the knd but depending on what you stole if you can IAD in or out to give you space or tag in. Also if you choose this option you can sneak in 2LL before you do your second Connoisseur Cut in reverse.
But I find that with her air juggles depending on how high she is 214L is best. For some reason 214M & H wiffs and then your either scrambling or you are on the defensive faster then you were planning.

In what situations are you able to do LML 214.L? Ive tried swapping it in as an ender for just about every single combo I do, that normally ends in LMS-214.M and unless Im missing something, I can *never* get it to connect. It's sort of weird.

LMS-214.M is completely consistent for me in every scenario that Ive found and used, outside the ender to the assist combo I was talking about..and I actually changed that combo around some and am able to use it now.. I optimized some of the first jump sequences, like doing j.MLL to start the air stuff, and so on.. then after the assist call, I just SD into a simple LMS-214.M instead of trying to do two air sequences here.. the second sequence was the bastard that always dropped. I net about 4835 here meterless, with the knee carrying them back to the ground and letting me spend more meter here if I want.. I can probably optimize this a little further - Id like to get that 5k number, but this is dead easy and consistent and 1-3% isnt worth dropping the combo for IMO.

I appreciate your advice man, please dont think Im ungrateful, just trying to understand the nuances. You also mention always doing 214.L in the air.. does L have different KD properties to M or is it just consistency?
